As the Tax Director leading our Global Tax Reporting, you will report into the VP Tax and be accountable for a nurturing an ambitious team spread across the US and India.
Deep technical skills are a given, but what this role requires is someone that is able to seamlessly bring people together across jurisdictions and cross-functional teams, embrace complexity as a challenge to take on, and to be able to operate at speed.
Responsibilities & Deliverables:
Own the end to end tax accounting and reporting process, from initial kick off calls with the auditors, planning with the group reporting team, rolling up your sleeves to deep dive into calculations with your team, managing complex deferred tax schedules with legacy merger accounting and other nuances, and closing out audit queries.
Own the global tax compliance process across all regions, with support from your own team, local finance managers and third party service providers.
Provide metric-driven confidence on the overall governance and efficiencies of global tax reporting and compliance, including driving improvements in tax forecasting, modelling of impact of changes and enhanced insights and analytics to support decision making.
Manage and provide oversight of enquiries with tax authorities around the world.
Help drive a high performance culture within the tax team through engagement in team meetings, delivery of own initiatives and trainings, and investment in time to coach and develop the team.
Required Experience:
CPA/qualified accountant with 10-15 years experience including ownership of tax reporting in non-US jurisdictions
Extensive (10 to 15 years) leading tax reporting consolidation for a global complex multi-national organization
Exceptional IFRS/US GAAP technical tax accounting expertise, ideally with experience in acquisition and merger accounting.
Experience of managing teams, taking a coaching approach to ensure each individual is valued and is provided with clarity and support on their growth journey.
Ability to influence senior stakeholders and to drive complex transformations involving cross-functional teams
Advanced excel skills and an ability to understand end to end tax processes and systems.
