The Associate, Business Control and Risk Management position is responsible for various activities related to risk management performance and assists in the fulfillment of our external and internal audit and/or regulatory requirements for Technology division. S/he works to identify, assess, and action various risks throughout the assigned business line by executing defined programs. The Associate is responsible for developing, analyzing, reporting, and challenging data. S/he participates in initiatives and recommends opportunities for improved efficiency, effectiveness and/or risk reduction.
Responsibilities:
Drive Risk Culture: Ensure awareness in the Business Line of risk frameworks, policies, and standards. Communication & Training: Work with team members and key stakeholders to develop appropriate metrics and deliver relevant and accurate data. Work with internal teams to gain an in-depth understanding of existing risks, causes, severity rating, controls and remediation Maintain two-way communications with SLoD/IA. Adherence to Risk Frameworks, Policies, and Standards: Continuously monitors all sources of risk existing within the Business Line and externally. Report and escalate exceptions and facilitate Business Line corrective actions. Engage in research, peer networking, and experience to anticipate critical risk issues impacting the Business Line. Understand where operational, strategic, reputational, compliance, and model risks exist in the Business Line and continually assess and improve controls to mitigate those risks. Monitor Key Risk Indicators and report on negative/adverse trends in Business Line. Monitor risk profile to maintain tolerance within Risk Appetite. Provides timely status updates / reporting weekly, monthly, ad hoc to manager and for formal governance routines and executive reporting as required. Acts as the central point of contact for coordinated information flow with auditors and Santander team members regarding RPO related matters i.e audit / exams / attestations.

Education: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience
Work Experience: 5-9 years; Risk Management, Internal Controls, Auditing, Credit Management, relevant line of business experience and/or legal or regulatory experience.
Skills and Abilities:
Demonstrated experience supporting and/or leading audits, which includes pre-audit preparation, document production, and reporting. Knowledge of the financial services sector, particularly with the competitive dynamics and products in retail banking and risk management.
Strong knowledge of IT General Controls.
Advanced understanding of the regulatory environment and how the risks of the products and services the bank offers are viewed by the Second Line of Defense, Internal Audit and regulators.
Ability to build credibility with, collaborate with, and influence line of business executives.
Excellent analytical and complex problem-solving skills.
Strong project management skills.
Strong written and verbal communication.
Ability to constructively work both independently and in collaborative environments involving all levels of management and employees

Working Conditions: Frequent Minimal physical effort such as sitting, standing and walking. Occasional moving and lifting equipment and furniture is required to support onsite and offsite meeting setup and teardown. Physically capable of lifting to fifty pounds, able to bend, kneel, climb ladders.

The base pay range for this position is posted below and represents the annualized salary range. For hourly positions (non-exempt), the annual range is based on a 40-hour work week. The exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, training, licensure and certifications and location.
