The opportunity:
The Senior Accounting Analyst for Group and Stop Loss Accounting is a pivotal role within our financial operations team. This position is responsible for overseeing and executing the monthly accounting processes, conducting in-depth financial analysis, performing meticulous account reconciliations, and producing comprehensive reports for both IFRS and Statutory results. The ideal candidate will possess advanced technical accounting expertise and exceptional communication skills to address complex accounting issues effectively.
This role is critical in ensuring the integrity and compliance of the company's financial reporting with prescribed IFRS and Statutory accounting standards. The Senior Accounting Analyst will collaborate closely with various departmental stakeholders to maintain the highest standards of financial accuracy and transparency.

How you will contribute:
Key Responsibilities:
1. Financial Accounting and Reporting:
- Manage and execute the monthly accounting processes related to Reserves and Reinsurance, supporting both IFRS and NAIC financial accounting closes for all Group and Voluntary products.
- Prepare precise and timely journal entries, ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards.
- Conduct thorough analysis of financial results and produce detailed reports for management review.
- Assist in the preparation and review of NAIC financial reporting deliverables, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.
2. Interdepartmental Collaboration and Data Integrity:
- Foster strong working relationships with other departments to verify the accuracy and reliability of supporting data used in ledger transactions.
- Act as a liaison between finance and other business units to resolve data discrepancies and ensure consistency in financial reporting.
3. Account Reconciliation and Issue Resolution:
- Perform comprehensive monthly account reconciliations with meticulous attention to detail.
- Proactively identify and resolve discrepancies, working closely with relevant business units to clear open reconciling items promptly.
4. Audit Support and Compliance:
- Play a key role in compiling and responding to internal and external audit requests.
- Conduct thorough research to address data inquiries and provide detailed supporting documentation for account balances.
- Ensure all financial processes and reports comply with IFRS, NAIC, and other relevant regulatory standards.
5. Process Improvement and Innovation:
- Continuously evaluate existing systems and business processes, recommending and implementing improvements to enhance the accuracy and efficiency of financial data processing.
- Stay abreast of industry best practices and emerging technologies in financial accounting and reporting.
6. Project Management and Ad-hoc Assignments:
- Participate in and lead cross-functional projects related to financial operations and reporting.
- Undertake ad-hoc financial analysis and special projects as requested by senior management.
What you will bring with you:
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field. Master's degree is preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive corporate experience in accounting, financial reporting, and analysis.
- Extensive experience in Insurance and Reinsurance accounting is highly preferred.
- CPA or CMA certification is strongly desired.
Technical Skills:
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, with particular emphasis on Excel (including complex formulas, pivot tables, and macros).
- Experience with enterprise-level accounting software and financial management systems.
- Strong understanding of IFRS, US GAAP, and NAIC accounting requirements.
- In-depth knowledge of Reinsurance and Group insurance products.

Salary Range: $78,000 - $117,000

Your actual base salary will be determined based on your unique skills, qualifications, experience, education, and geographic location. In addition to your base salary, this position is eligible for a discretionary annual incentive award based on your individual performance as well as the overall performance of the business.
