Role Summary
PGIM Investments seeks to hire an experienced, field-facing Alternative Investments Sales Specialist (“AI Sales Specialist”) to support the ongoing growth of its $320 billion alternative investment platform, which spans a wide range of assets classes and strategies, across private and public markets. The AI Sales Specialist will partner closely with key stakeholders across investment affiliates, product management, marketing and sales teams in the distribution of alternative investment solutions to retail/HNW clients in the US. This individual will leverage their alternative investments expertise and experience in executing a number of critical educational and sales initiatives, aimed at driving adoption of PGIM’s alternatives solutions among IBD’s, RIAs, Wirehouses, private banks, family offices, investment consultants and their clients. The position will be based in Newark, NJ and report to PGIM Investments’ Global Head of Alternative Investments, Dominick Carlino.
Job Responsibilities
- Develop deep understanding of PGIM’s Alternatives platform and effectively represent individual solutions, to wealth management firms, advisors and clients, in partnership with Sales team.
- Provide subject matter expertise with Alternatives and collaborate with Sales team in organizing and executing fund roadshows and other field engagement routines, with prescribed follow-up activities to drive sales results.
- Provide client service support in researching and resolving advisor and client matters in a timely manner with excellent quality and consistency.
- Partner with investment, product and distribution teams, along with other key stakeholders, to promote and distribute a wide range of strategies and structures for retail/HNW investors.
- Support the development and rationalization of a variety of different types of Alternative Investment marketing collateral and branding initiatives (e.g., presentation decks, educational materials, thought leadership/thematic content).
- Stay abreast of industry trends, competitive landscape and investor preferences to support product development and positioning in various educational forums, conferences, and other events.
Required Qualifications, Capabilities And Skills
- Minimum 10 years of experience successfully developing product and/or raising capital for a diverse set of alternatives investment solutions, across private market and hedge fund strategies, within asset and/or wealth management.
- Experience with and knowledge of multiple product structures, including: private placements, non-traded REITS, BDCs, interval funds, closed-end funds, open-end funds, and separate accounts
- Strong understanding of alternatives portfolio construction and implementation.
- Knowledge of and experience working with a range of investor types; private wealth knowledge and experience required.
- Experience developing and executing sales strategy in conjunction with other distribution teams.
- Ability to deliver concise, persuasive and technically sound business presentations to a diverse set of business partners and clients. Strong communicator with executive presence
- Capacity to manage multiple projects simultaneously and dynamically navigate a large, multi-functional organization.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Undergraduate degree in business, finance, economics or related field
- MBA/CFA/CAIA preferred
- Series 7, and 63 certifications (24 preferred)
Note: Prudential is required by state specific laws to include the salary range for this role when hiring a resident in applicable locations. The base salary range for this role is from $225,000 to $300,000. Specific pricing for the role may vary within the above range based on many factors including geographic location, candidate experience, and skills. This role is also eligible for additional compensation and/or benefits including a competitive, discretionary annual cash bonus opportunity along with long term incentive awards. Eligibility to participate in the discretionary annual incentive programs are subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
