I am writing to express my strong interest in the Financial Management-related positions.

For more than 13 years, I have served as a Controller within a federal agency, responsible for reviewing and certifying payments to implementing partners, vendors, and mission staff through the U.S. Treasury and the State Department’s global financial systems. My career has included assignments in five overseas missions as well as in Washington, D.C., where I typically oversaw annual payment operations ranging from $200 million to $500 million per location.

Beyond payment disbursements, my responsibilities have encompassed leading annual budget formulation exercises, analyzing the financial impacts of procurements, monitoring and reporting on implementing partners’ financial performance, conducting internal control assessments to fulfill the requirements of the Federal Managers’ Financial Integrity Act, and collaborating with Inspectors General throughout the year to ensure compliance with federal regulations.

My earlier experience in the private sector further sharpened my analytical and reporting skills. I led financial audits and internal control assessments (in accordance with COSO and SOX frameworks) for major corporations and public organizations receiving federal funds, ensuring their compliance with GAAP, GAO, and OMB standards. I believe this combination of public- and private-sector experience has given me a deep understanding of both regulatory environments and innovative financial approaches that promote organizational efficiency.
