DESCRIPTION
Bain Capital is seeking an enthusiastic and innovative Senior Business Systems Analyst with a passion for data product management, analytics development and an ownership mindset. The candidate will collaborate with analytics, data engineering, and QA teams to develop, test, and deploy value-add analytics solutions globally (North America, Europe, Asia). The role entails engagement at various levels in all technology related initiatives from inception to implementation and support. The successful candidate will build strong relationships with various stakeholders by delivering and presenting impactful, technology-driven products that provide strategic insights and enhance operational efficiency across diverse business units.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Identify and implement innovative, data-driven analytics solutions within corporate business areas of the firm by utilizing cloud data warehouse and business intelligence platforms
- Act as a liaison between business users and development teams to facilitate and implement both large and small-scale products, while solving complex problems
- Lead projects and maintain high analytics project standards
- Evaluate technology solutions to ensure alignment with business objectives, identifying risks, improvement opportunities, and financial implications
- Facilitate, gather, document, and validate business requirements for technology analytics initiatives, including business/data requirements, data flows, data modeling, workflow context and design, and user interface designs
- Form strong working relationships with various stakeholders - both business and technical
- Balance responsibilities related to production support and data product development and management tasks
- Assist in developing data product roadmaps that align with business objectives
TECHNOLOGY EXPERIENCE:
- Full lifecycle experience in complex data analytics product roll-out
- Expertise in agile methodologies, particularly Scrum, for managing data product lifecycles
- Proficiency in business intelligence applications (Tableau is required; knowledge of Power BI is a plus)
- Knowledge of data visualization techniques
- Proficiency in Python
- Experience with data modeling and data transformation applications (SQL)
- Experience with Snowflake or other cloud databases for building complex analytics
- Experience with dbt or other ETL tools
- Proven experience with cloud data technologies (AWS)
- Familiarity with technology architectures and integration concepts
- Competent in developing workflow and functional use cases
- Familiarity with technology architectures and concepts, including data lakes, cloud computing, web interfaces, relational databases, and application integration
- Experience working with buy-side, fund financial, or other reporting in Workday or other ERP systems is a plus
- Experience with Workday HCM/Financials and building/supporting integrations is a plus
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, business analytics, data science, management information systems, or finance / economics
- 3+ years of experience working directly with the business, supporting data product management / development
- Previous consulting experience is a plus
- Data science coursework is a plus
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts to diverse audiences
- Excellent interpersonal skills

- A self-starter with a proactive approach to problem-solving and idea generation
- Demonstrated ability and passion for acquiring new knowledge and skills with a proactive approach to learning and adapting to evolving technologies
