The Vice President of Firm Strategy will play a pivotal role in shaping the strategic direction of MissionSquare Retirement. Reporting directly to the Chief Strategy Officer, this position will support the CSO's efforts in driving strategic development and ensuring alignment with the organization’s mission and goals.
Essential Functions For This Role Include
- Supporting Strategic Development: Assist in the implementation of the corporate strategic plan for MissionSquare Retirement. Collaborate with a team to provide a robust external perspective for the business, conduct SWOT analyses, and support strategy development and key initiatives. Gather competitive intelligence and help translate this intelligence into actionable strategies, ensuring alignment with MissionSquare's strategic objectives.
- Market Analysis: Support the analysis of market dynamics, market share changes, product line performance, and competitive intelligence. Help identify key capital projects, joint ventures, potential M&A targets, and other strategic partnership opportunities.
- Performance Metrics: Contribute to the establishment of suitable metrics to measure performance and progress, assisting in the monitoring of business initiatives.
- Facilitating Strategic Initiatives: Collaborate across departments to support the development of strategy for significant initiatives, including entry into new markets, M&A, new products, retail opportunities, and departmental strategies.
- Strategic Thought Partner: Work alongside the executive team and leaders across MissionSquare to help develop long-term objectives (3-5 years). Provide insights on industry trends to ensure that MissionSquare is positioned to capitalize on these trends.
- Market and Industry Analysis: Assist in framing and informing strategy based on evaluations of market conditions and industry trends. Conduct primary quantitative and qualitative market research, identify and analyze trends, and help quantify addressable markets for target products, services, and growth potential.
- Competitive Intelligence and Analysis: Support the synthesis and analysis of multiple internal and external data sources to drive competitive insights and intelligence. Help assess competitor market segmentation and positioning, monitor competitive trends, and identify gaps that signal potential issues. Assist in ongoing pricing analysis and benchmarking and contribute to the development and maintenance of competitive intelligence tools and resources.
If you have the following skills, we encourage you to apply:
- 15+ years of experience and previous management consulting experience and financial services experience is preferred.
- A bachelor’s degree in business administration, management, economics, finance, or a related field.
- A master’s degree, often an MBA, which provides a strong foundation in finance, economics, and management.
- Strong analytical skills, excellent communication and presentation abilities, and a proven track record of driving organizational change.
