Corporate Accounting And Financial Reporting Team Overview
The Corporate Accounting and Financial Reporting Team is responsible for maintaining the firm’s accounting records and preparing the firm’s annual financial statements. The team produces financial reporting and analyses for management, the Board, and U.S. government agencies. The team is responsible for the firm’s partnership accounting, payroll, accounts receivable, accounts payable and cash management. The team oversees the global finance activities including transfer pricing between its subsidiaries.
This role will report to the Financial Operations Manager.
Responsibilities
- Process semi-monthly and biweekly payrolls for approximately 400 employees, partners, co-ops and interns
- Maintain schedules and reconciliations for aforementioned payrolls, payroll reporting, 401(k) benefit plan, and payroll taxes
- Assist in the accounts payable process, including supplier verification, purchase order maintenance, invoice entry, and settlement run preparation
- Process employee reimbursements and corporate AMEX statements through the firm’s expense management system and ensure accurate data transfer into the accounting system
- Administer the firm’s matching gift program
- Prepare various revenue reconciliations and record monthly pooled product fees
- Monitor and reconcile accounts receivables and payables balance sheet accounts
- Leverage technology to achieve the team’s goal of process and data entry automation
- Support monitoring of daily cash activity, ensure adherence to cash controls, and monthly cash reconciliations for multiple bank accounts
- Assist in other projects as assigned by the Treasury and Payables Manager and the Head of Corporate Accounting and Financial Reporting
- Opportunities to take ownership of processes, suggest improvements and efficiencies, eliminate redundancies, and collaborate with others on the global team
Requirements
Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration or similar with 1-4 years of work experience in a similar function
- Experience with general ledger accounting and financial reporting systems
- Experience in payroll and/or accounts payable processing a plus
- Strong quantitative and analytical abilities
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Must be adept at learning new technology
- Proficient in MS Excel (Pivot Table and V-Lookup experience a plus)

$70,000 - $80,000 a year
The base salary range for this position is $70,000 - $80,000. This salary range is estimated for this role and actual pay may be different based on a candidate’s qualifications and/or years of experience. In addition, this position is eligible for a discretionary annual bonus award, which award may be determined by individual, team, department and firm performance, and is subject to the terms of GMO’s compensation plan. This position is also benefits eligible.
