Abou t the Role
This Financial Planning & Analysis lead role is responsible for developing and enhancing key managerial planning, reporting and analytics to support the CFO and for stakeholders including the Board, Shareholder, Management Committee, Finance Leadership Team, and other business divisions. Works closely with Finance and Accounting colleagues and other business leaders to develop, maintain and analyze integrated business reporting and analysis across AUM, Revenues, Workforce Planning, various expenditure areas and margins. Partners to support strategic planning and integrated business line and Firmwide modeling, forecasting and scenario planning working with members of the Finance Leadership Team. Leverages tools and teamwork to accelerate timeliness and insight of FP&A deliverables.
Structured as a “hub and spoke” approach to leverage deeply embedded subject matter expertise, this position is by design an individual contributor that requires a highly collaborative approach and an extensive FP&A experience base. Success entails building strong partnerships across the accounting and finance leadership team and subject matter experts in finance /accounting as well as with colleagues in other business areas. Leverages existing data and processes to develop seamless, timely, and impactful managerial reporting, modeling, analytics and decision support deliverables.
Critical skills include complex business modeling and analytics, executive level business reporting, proven professionalism to interact with senior business leaders and peers, and experience in the development and delivery of standardized / repeatable business division reporting, score cards, business unit goal tracking and trend analytics. Technical skills require proven experience with planning and modeling tools including Excel and Anaplan (or similar planning software) and solid financial accounting skills. Experience in leveraging automated reporting tools (such as PowerBi) would be a plus. Equally important to technical skills, it is critical the role brings: proven analytical skills, effective communications for varied formats and senior audiences, a highly collaborative work-style, ability to effectively navigate ambiguity, and a natural tendency toward strategic thinking and insightful financial analysis. Project management experience is also essential to support this highly autonomous role with varied deliverables and stakeholders. Strong leadership, professional judgement, and interpersonal and communication skills are all necessary; soft skills are critical to being effective in the role.
About The Team
This role is a member of a 25-person finance team, which includes peers across accounting, external reporting, benefits, payroll, incentive compensation, pricing, treasury, billing and financial systems. Together, the team supports the broad finance, accounting, and planning needs of the firm with over $380 billion in Assets Under Management (AUM) across Equity, Fixed Income, and Private Credit.
Job Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities:
- Develop or enhance and maintain executive level managerial reporting to support the CFO, CEO, Management Committee, the Board and Shareholders with financial oversight and governance – including integrated content across AUM, P&L reporting and trend reporting/ analytics across revenue, staffing, various expense areas, ROI and margin analytics.
- Help develop and then manage accurate, timely, and insightful managerial reporting to support business unit visibility and analysis each reporting cycle
- Partner on broader finance deliverables, providing robust analytics and modeling support.
- Provide strategic financial support through the development of: business models, decision analytics for new platforms or initiatives; business performance metrics for assigned business unit(s) and the Firm.

- In collaboration with finance and accounting peers, provides analysis and process support to enhance forecasting and scenario planning.
Minimum Prior Related Work Experience Typically Required
- Bachelor’s Degree required
- Master's in planning or MBA preferred
- 5-7 years directly related FP&A experience
- Investment Management and/or Professional Services experience a plus
Essential Skills and Work Location:
- Strong analytical skills acquired through proven finance, accounting or business experience and including complex modeling capabilities
- Beyond building the model, this role is expected to provide analytical insight, storyline trends, and context to influence decision-making

- This is a Boston based, highly collaborative role that will be expected in the Boston office the majority (3+) of days / week
- Limited to no travel expected
- PC/Technical Skills
- MS Office Suite (including advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills)
- Experience with sophisticated modeling, planning and forecasting tools such as Anaplan, Hyperion and others
- Preferably experienced with reporting tools such as Powerbi
- Solid background in accounting and financial reporting
