TITLE: Marketing Operations Director
LOCATION: New York City (hybrid)
SALARY: $140,000 - $165,000 base + bonus (based on NYC, will be adjusted for geo)
The Role:
As Marketing Operations Director at Canoe, your mission is to architect and optimize our marketing technology infrastructure, streamline campaign execution processes, and establish frameworks that enable our marketing teams to deliver maximum impact. You will be the technical backbone of our marketing organization, responsible for implementing and managing marketing automation systems, standardizing workflows, and ensuring data-driven decision-making across all marketing initiatives.
This position will have a direct impact on marketing efficiency and effectiveness across all segments, requiring close collaboration with Corporate Marketing, Growth Marketing, Product Marketing, Revenue Operations, Sales, Business Development, and Channel Partnership teams to ensure seamless integration of marketing systems with our broader technology stack.
What You’ll Do:
- Optimize Marketing Technology Systems: Oversee the implementation, integration, and maintenance of Canoe’s marketing technology stack, ensuring alignment with the broader organizational tech ecosystem.
- Streamline Campaign Processes: Develop and refine workflows to improve campaign execution efficiency, including automation, lead scoring, routing, and the marketing-to-sales handoff process.
- Establish Data Governance: Implement and enforce best practices for data management and hygiene to ensure accuracy, consistency, and reliability across all marketing platforms.
- Build Attribution and Reporting Models: Design comprehensive frameworks to measure campaign performance, marketing ROI, and support data-driven decision-making.
- Standardize and Scale Operations: Create and document scalable processes that enhance operational efficiency and support Canoe’s rapid growth trajectory.
- Collaborate Across Teams: Partner with cross-functional teams, including Sales, Revenue Operations, and Marketing, to align marketing operations with business objectives.
What We’re Looking For:
- 7+ years of marketing operations experience, with a proven track record of successfully implementing and managing marketing technology ecosystems, preferably in a B2B SaaS or fintech environment.
- Deep expertise in marketing automation platforms (preferably HubSpot), CRM systems (preferably Salesforce), Oktopost (social media management), BrandLive (webinars and virtual events) and other marketing analytics tools.
- Strong technical acumen with experience in owning the lifecycle of campaigns, including automation, lead routing, scoring models, and workflow design to optimize the marketing-to-sales handoff process.
- Advanced knowledge of data management and hygiene practices, with the ability to establish and maintain data governance standards across marketing systems.
- Experience in implementing and managing marketing attribution models, with the ability to create comprehensive reporting frameworks that demonstrate marketing ROI and campaign effectiveness.
- Proven ability to document, standardize, and optimize marketing processes, creating scalable solutions that support rapid growth.
- Experience in vendor evaluation, selection, and management for marketing technology solutions.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights and recommendations for marketing strategy optimization.
- Excellent project management capabilities, with experience in managing multiple concurrent initiatives while maintaining strong attention to detail.
- Strategic mindset with the ability to balance immediate operational needs with long-term scalability requirements.
- Strong collaborative skills with the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience utilizing sales enablement/automation tools (such as Apollo and HighSpot) is a plus.
- Certification in relevant marketing automation platforms and demonstrated commitment to staying current with marketing technology trends and best practices.
