Summary
Ares Management is seeking a Senior Associate to join our Ares Global Conferences & Events Team as an Event & Conference Sponsorship Manager. The Events team is a part of the Global Client Solutions (GCS) Group, with team members based in New York, Los Angeles, London and Mumbai. The Event & Conference Sponsorship Manager will be responsible for managing and supporting firmwide participation in 100+ third party industry conferences that are held around the world. The successful candidate is strategic, organized and proactive and has experience in events, sponsorship, marketing or content roles. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing multiple vendor relationships and will effectively interface and liaise with the Events Team and Relationship Managers within GCS, Investor Relations teams, and other key stakeholders at Ares.

Reports to: Vice President, Event Content, GCS (based in Los Angeles)
Primary functions and responsibilities
Responsible for coordinating participation, membership, and sponsorship of 100+ global third-party industry conferences per year
Responsible for staying organized while managing 15+ conferences at a time, each at different stages of the planning process
Research upcoming industry conferences, liaise with Relationship Managers to identify events of interest, consolidate details, request budget approvals, complete delegate registration and process payment
Work closely with internal teams across the firm to ensure that all processes are being followed and required approvals have been received. This includes having contracts, gifts, advertisements, speaking engagements and invitation lists approved by Legal and Compliance
Negotiate sponsorship packages, oversee and monitor all sponsorship package deliverables and ensure deliverables are provided to external event organizers in advance of deadlines. This includes ordering on-site signage, swag, exhibitor booth equipment, as well as providing vendors with logos, boilerplates, and speaker details
Manage Industry Conference Budget, accurately track spend, process invoices, provide receipts and assist with annual budgeting process
Assist with preparation for large-flagship industry conferences, schedule high volume of 1x1 meetings, collect data, carefully review event materials, and provide on-site support
Develop and maintain relationships with external event organizers and vendors
Partner with the Global Conferences & Events team to research and plan event schedules that will best meet the needs of target markets within geographic regions; support the design, planning, implementation, marketing and coordination of events, conferences, roadshows, and logistics
Manage the Industry Conference Calendar, ensuring it is always up-to-date
Education:

Experience & Skills Required:
6-10 years of experience in events, sponsorship, marketing or content roles required
Experience in financial services industry strongly preferred

Compensation
The anticipated base salary range for this position is listed below. Total compensation may also include a discretionary performance-based bonus. Note, the range takes into account a broad spectrum of qualifications, including, but not limited to, years of relevant work experience, education, and other relevant qualifications specific to the role.
$125,000 - $145,000 / annum
