About PSRS/PEERS
PSRS/PEERS is the largest defined benefit pension plan in Missouri with more than 315,000 members. We work in partnership with Missouri public school districts to provide retirement security for Missouri's public school teachers and education employees.
Most of our 173 employees work out of our recently remodeled/expanded building located at 3210 West Truman Boulevard in Jefferson City. Our office is open from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, and many positions have scheduling flexibility within those hours. We provide state-of-the-art technology and security, with comfortable, ergonomic working spaces and collaborative areas throughout the building. Employees enjoy ample on-site parking.
About the Job
Member Education Specialists prepare calculations for purchases and service retirement estimates, prepare personalized member packets and other materials for seminars and educational events. In addition, they prepare personalized member packets for in-person individual counseling sessions and create personalized member estimates for web and phone counseling meetings.
These specialists assist in generating and mailing confirmation letters for seminar participants. They also prepare required materials for seminars and other educational events including member packets, general handout materials, brochures and other publications, and computer equipment. Education Specialists track inventory for publications and serve as a resource for overflow/high volume of calls and chats for the Information Center regarding all aspects of the retirement system. Specialists participate in the regular front desk coverage rotation.
Our members rely on our Member Education team when making important financial and life decisions. Specialists must understand, analyze and provide accurate, complete and timely information so our members can make the best possible decisions regarding their retirement benefits.
Job Requirements
Candidates should have at least a high school diploma or GED/HiSET equivalent and at least two years' office experience. Pension experience is preferred.
