Compensation Range
Hourly: $38.65 - $45.45 (Amount based on relevant experience, skills, and competencies.)

Our private wealth management capabilities include financial planning, estate and tax planning, investment management, private banking and trust administration services. The main purpose of this job is to write and develop informative, influential content focused on investment management topics that are aligned with the company’s wealth management business. Content is primarily written copy and also includes podcast and video content. This job requires close collaboration with your manager and partnering with the internal investment management team to ensure high editorial standards and copy that will resonate with our target audiences for wealth management.
This position reports directly to the Director of Marketing for Commerce Trust. This position is in-person located in the Clayton, Missouri office.
Essential Functions
- Plan, develop, write, and edit a variety of investment management content, primarily text but also podcast and video content, with a constant eye toward accuracy, quality, and consistency
- Collaborate with and build strong working relationships with subject matter experts such as investment team leadership, portfolio managers, investment analysts and private client officers
- Write and deliver content that promotes the Commerce Trust wealth management brand in line with the company’s strategic positioning and that differentiates our capabilities from competitors
- Drive engagement with target audiences by presenting thought leadership in a compelling, high impact way on a variety of topics focused on our investment management philosophy, capabilities and perspectives for both private and institutional wealth management
- Apply research, writing and editing skills to the entire editorial process to conceive, research, interview and extract insights from subject matter experts, develop and create thought leadership pieces in multiple formats and across a variety of media, including podcast and video content, investment reports, newsletter and website articles
- Partner with internal and external marketing colleagues to produce the content in go-to-market form
- Guide the timely review of content through the Legal and Compliance review process to deliver Legal and Compliance approved pieces
- Contribute to the content strategy and planning process based on the insights you bring from collaborating with subject matter expert colleagues and through your own content development responsibilities
- Perform other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required
- Tenacious with a passion for sharing investment management industry insights through content in an approachable, non-jargony tone to connect with the audience
- Strong project management skills with ability to adjust tone and message for specific audiences and diverse formats
- Ability to engage and understand with professional subject matter experts at all levels to convey their story in a compelling and interesting, understandable way and follow up with them for content review
- Open to other viewpoints, feedback, collaboration and be versatile enough to work with different types of people and personalities whose subject matter input is necessary to the process
- Overall driven to deliver high quality, engaging content while adhering to Commerce Trust Company brand standards
- Motivated and organized self-starter with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Inquisitive, agile, and strong team player with excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills

- Strong sense of internal accountability to deliver on the above essential functions as expected and on time
- Intermediate level proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Teams, and Outlook
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required
- 6+ years investment writing experience required

This compensation range is for the Senior Financial Content Writer – CTC job and contemplates a wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to location, skill sets, education, relevant experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for any applicable differentials (geographic, bilingual, or shift) that could be associated with the position or where it is filled. At Commerce, compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each situation. A reasonable estimate of the current base pay is $38.65 to $45.45 hourly.
