Role Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join our dynamic finance team in our Coral Gables office. This role will be responsible for the financial affairs of various management companies and overall financial reporting.
Role Responsibilities:
- Lead the corporate month-end closing activities, including preparing and reviewing reconciliations and journal entries across multiple jurisdictions.
- Conduct in-depth balance sheet and P&L analysis.
- Perform cash flow analysis with a keen eye for detail.
- Develop and document robust business processes and accounting policies to enhance internal controls.
- Assist with accounting policy development, ensuring seamless communication and resolution of policy inquiries with business partners.
- Evaluate the impact of new accounting standards and implement necessary changes to our policies.
- Contribute to the continuous development of accounting procedures and standards.
- Coordinate and prepare essential audit schedules.
- Support external audits by providing proper documentation and assistance as needed
- Engage in special projects and handle Ad-Hoc requests with agility.
- Coordinate financial statement preparation including footnotes.
Requirements & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting - Required
- CPA or progress towards certification - Highly Preferred
- 4+ years of experience in a large, reputable company.
- Proven finance experience in a multinational organization with top-tier processes.
- Exceptional capability to meet tight deadlines and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Advanced proficiency in verifying complex financial or transactional data.
- Thorough understanding of U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US GAAP).
- Experience with financial statement audits, either as an auditor or client.
- Familiarity with Workday or similar ERP systems – a plus.
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including formulas and pivot tables) is a must.
- Strong technical accounting skills and expertise with accounting research tools.
- Ability to build trust and confidence with business partners, coupled with a positive attitude, strong leadership, and excellent communication and organizational skills.
