Position Summary
This Analyst will be part of a team that is responsible for structuring, marketing, and selling private placement offerings of fractional interests in real property to our high-net-worth Investor clients. The average investor transaction is over $1.5 million, and each offering ranges $100-$400 million in size. This role will be responsible for underwriting loans for our Ares Real Estate Exchange (AREX) loan program. Other responsibilities include working with the REIT portfolio management team to select REIT assets for use in the AREX 1031 exchange program, ordering and reviewing property due diligence reports, preparation of offering materials, coordination with the asset management team, preparation of investor relations materials, Board presentation preparation, sales reporting/analysis, as well as sales forecasting, and other support to senior management. Responsibilities are broad and vary, and such responsibilities directly affect the key operations and success of the business.
Essential Job Duties
- Analyze financial statements, tax returns, credit reports, and other related materials of potential investors in order to prepare and present detailed loan underwritings to the AREX Loan Committee consisting of internal counsel and the CFOs of our two private REITs
- Work with the AREX team, as well as the REIT team, legal team and outside counsel, to prepare AREX offering documents, marketing materials and investor relations materials, which will include concise, accurate presentation of numerical data, well-written property descriptions, careful editing and excellent attention to detail
- Prepare yield and cash flow models used to analyze returns for investors and REIT
- Analytical support for the AREX sales team, as needed
- Support the preparation of slide decks for presentations to the Board of Directors seeking various required approvals related to AREX Offerings
- Support the Head of AREX with data analysis, market/competitor research, generation and management of Salesforce reporting and other sales/marketing tasks
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- 1+ years of relevant professional experience in an investment product company serving high net worth investors is preferred, experience with commercial real estate investments a plus
- Strong Excel and Word skills, as well as experience with Salesforce or similar CRM
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Positive attitude, proactive, collaborative, strong problem-solver, self-motivated and team-oriented; ability to exercise discretion and independent judgement
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information
- Bachelor’s degree in business or other BA or BS with strong analytical component
- Ability to work independently and successfully manage multiple time sensitive projects

Compensation
The anticipated base salary range for this position is listed below. Total compensation may also include a discretionary performance-based bonus. Note, the range takes into account a broad spectrum of qualifications, including, but not limited to, years of relevant work experience, education, and other relevant qualifications specific to the role.
$70,000 - $85,000
