This position is eligible for annual and long-term incentive awards. The annual incentive opportunity is 0-60% of salary and is based on the level of achievement against several quantitative and qualitative measures. The long-term incentive program provides an additional opportunity of 40-60% of base salary beginning after five years and when absolute total fund returns meet or exceed board-approved thresholds.

The Investment Operations (IO) team within the Investment Office (INVO) is responsible for middle and back office enabling functions to support and manage the Public Employees' Retirement Fund (PERF) and Affiliate Funds, and drive our CalPERS mission. The Investment Services team is currently seeking an Associate Investment Manager to be dedicated to the Private Market Data Management team. This leader will play a critical role in supporting INVO by providing expertise in building an INVO data governance model, data modeling, data aggregation and analysis. This role requires a meticulous individual with a strong analytical mindset and a deep understanding of data governance and private markets. The Associate Investment Manager (AIM) will implement a range of checks and controls to ensure strict oversight of the data consumed and process to meet the fund's strategic objections and operational requirements.
Duties Include, But Are Not Limited To:
- Managing a team and overseeing end-to-end supplier operations and relationships with market data and external vendors in partnership with asset classes and business teams.
- Developing a vendor management program and decision-making framework for team processes and vendor assessments, concentrating on operational efficiencies and mitigation of operational risk.
- Strategic procurement and sourcing, building, and maintaining vendor relationships, and effectively understands services landscape to support investment strategies and operations.
Telework Information: This position is eligible for hybrid work schedule, with up to two days of remote work and three days or more onsite, per week.
