The CalSTRS Employer Services Division is seeking a motivated individual to work as a Staff Services Analyst on the Employer Reporting Validation Team.
The Employer Services (ES) Division is the primary communication interface with the plan’s participating employers. It is also the custodian of the members’ accounts from election to benefit/termination status. Over a million contribution lines are submitted monthly from participating employers and ES staff ensures the timeliness and accuracy of the contribution data.
The Employer Reporting Validation Team is responsible for validating employer payroll and contribution reporting to ensure the accuracy of member benefits. Analysts provide guidance to employers on how to accurately submit contribution files; perform research and analysis on member account information in response to requests from internal business partners; and communicate with employers when reporting validation or adjustments are necessary.
Under the supervision of the Employer Reporting Validation (ERV) team Manager I, the Staff Services Analyst (SSA) is responsible for performing the less complex membership and contribution data reporting analysis; communicating with employers to request documentation, provide important information bulletins or emails, and to coordinate employer outreach sessions; validating adjustments; providing reporting guidance, when necessary, in accordance with the Teacher’s Retirement Law, CA Education Code, CA Code of Regulations, and internal policies and procedures.

Every 12 months, based on performance evaluation, employees may receive a 5% salary increase until they reach the maximum salary for the position.
