The Financial Strategy team at Hudson River Trading (HRT) is responsible for strategic finance initiatives, FP&A, capital management and corporate development. We’re looking for someone with an interest in financial technology, capital markets, financial analysis, and strategy to join our team. We work closely with other teams at HRT to analyze business opportunities, improve processes, and interact with external parties.
Responsibilities
Financial Planning & Analysis:
- Contribute to analysis for presentations delivered to senior management
- Contribute to capital modeling for regular forecast updates and strategic initiatives
- Assist in analyzing monthly/quarterly results, including monitoring variances, identifying trends, and recommending actions to management
Strategic Finance Initiatives:
- Develop solutions to key strategic and operational issues
- Contribute to and build analytical frameworks and conduct complex business analysis
- Structure work plans and project scope to optimize impact on high priority issues
- Present recommendations and lead discussions with all levels of management
- Synthesize inputs, identify critical insights, and develop compelling recommendations for both internal and external audiences
Corporate Development & Special Projects:
- Assist in review of potential new investments (HRT Ventures), including research into new markets and industry trends, financial modeling, returns analysis, and company valuation
- Perform external market research and develop sector expertise to assist in identifying and sourcing new deals for potential investment
- Ad-hoc projects for senior management
Capital Markets:
- Assist in the development of firm debt capital markets strategy; including ratings management, investor relations, and deal execution
- Contribute to firmwide capital management analysis
Qualifications
- 3-5 years of work experience at a top tier investment bank, consulting firm, or a similar corporate strategy role within a trading firm or tech-focused financial company
- Exceptional communication skills
- A high level of complex, conceptual problem-solving ability
- Strong analytical/quantitative and technical abilities, organizational skills, and attention to detail
- Knowledge of financial services and capital markets a plus
- BA/BS in finance or a related field
- Familiarity with computer programming (Python, SQL a plus)
The estimated base salary range for this position is $100,000 to $150,000 per year, based on job-related skills and experience. This role will also be eligible for discretionary performance-based bonuses and a competitive benefits package.
