Position Overview:
The Senior Marketing Events Specialist will help inform and execute on event strategy, drive design efforts and deliver high quality Diligent branded events designed for our Board of Directors and Executive community. This collaborative role includes working closely with the Diligent Institute to suggest, develop and execute on concierge level experiences that amplify the Diligent brand. The person in this role will quickly have exposure to senior stakeholders, our most prominent customers and will be critical to helping Diligent meet its goals, particularly related to our Governance Business Unit. The role involves working to build experiences for high-profile individuals by getting to know their preferences and interests and designing unforgettable experiences that engage this selective audience and form a sense of community among them.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner closely with the Diligent Institute and cross-functional internal teams, to set event goals and objectives for events targeted to our Board of Directors community. Events will include:
- Roundtable discussions – live 2-hour discussions with 25-35 specific peer groups of directors/C-suite leaders (e.g., public company General Counsels, pre-IPO directors, public company CFOs) on a specific topic, taking place over a meal,
- NextGen Board Leaders Summits – one-day event for 20-30 first-time public company directors featuring a series of sessions with expert speakers, facilitated peer discussions and a cocktail reception at the end (often conducted with external partners),
- Elevate Leadership Summit – one-day event for 50-100 directors, GCs and C-suite leaders (public and private companies) including a series of panel discussions and facilitated peer roundtable discussions
- Produce and elevate experiences for such events with a keen sense of execution excellence aligned to the strategy that you help to construct.
- Carry responsibility for ensuring all communications surrounding Board and C-suite focused programs take place in a timely fashion, including ensuring all messages have the right tone, cadence and format for promotion, registration, travel arrangements, reminders, and other relevant messages.
- Oversee budgets to ensure cost-effective execution of events while reporting ROI to key stakeholders.
Required Experience/Skills
- 5+ years of experience in event production for high profile concierge-style events with demonstrated experience with “surprise & delight” moments.
- Strong executive engagement skills, as well as an unwavering sense of personal accountability and a grace under pressure mindset, to deliver impactful memories.
- Highly motivated self-starter, with the ability to effectively set priorities, handle multiple projects and follow-through on deadlines in a high growth organization
- Proven ability to develop strong relationships across all levels of the organization.
- Ability to travel ~15% of the year
- Prefer to have experience managing events for Board members or C-suite executives.
