Position Overview
Reporting directly to the Director of Portfolio Operations, the Operations Analyst’s primary responsibilities will include daily account reconciliation, trade settlement, corporate action processing, and client reporting. Additional responsibilities may include oversight of our third-party fund administrator and key processes for our private commingled funds. The Operations Analyst is an entry level position with direct exposure to the entire portfolio management process, working directly with portfolio managers on daily basis utilizing sophisticated portfolio management and accounting software, along with various equity research databases.
Key Job Responsibilities
- Daily cash and position reconciliation that requires acute attention to detail
- Trade settlement including resolving post trade issues that requires the ability to work under time pressure
- Corporate action processing including election, entry in our accounting system, and research that require good analytical, problem-solving and communication skills
- Client reporting deadlines that require the ability to work under time pressure and communicate with various levels of professional personnel
- Keep manager and team leads updated on progress of work and communicate issues/delays timely to avoid missed deadlines
Additional Responsibilities
- Daily oversight of private fund administration processes
- Respond to on-going data and reporting requests from senior management
- Review workflows and identify process improvements, and ways to make workflows more efficient
Skills and Knowledge Required
- A Bachelor’s degree in finance, business administration, or related field
- Well-rounded knowledge of Microsoft Suite
- An understanding of, or strong desire to better understand, finance and/or asset management
- Ability to prioritize tasks to meet daily deadlines
- Highly organized, detail oriented, self-motivated, strong work ethic
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent team player
Skills and Knowledge Desired
- A strong preference for 2 years’ related investment operations experience
- A strong preference for 1 year fund administration experience
This is a hybrid position based in Los Angeles, CA which requires weekly attendance.
