Job Purpose
The Business Intelligence & Insights Analyst is responsible for providing quantitative and qualitative reporting, data visualization, and analysis on internal and external business and industry metrics. The Analyst creates and analyzes reports, highlighting performance and opportunity to/for multiple departments. This individual works closely with Sales teams to identify sales opportunities and optimize efforts for the entire Distribution company throughout the sales process.
Essential Responsibilities
- Analyzes disparate and complex data and creates custom reports to identify industry opportunity, create advisor segmentation models, assist with territory optimization, and track wholesaler activity on behalf of sales management.
- Drives holistic measurement, reporting, and insights across sales, marketing and product solutions.
- Ensures data and reporting is accurate and updated in a timely manner.
- Conducts territory research utilizing internal and external data sources to determine potential sales opportunities.
- Works closely with various departments to create custom reports to track internal activity, identify best practices, and provide recommendations based on findings.
- Develops and maintains databases utilized to produce standard sales and ad hoc reports across the organization.
- Distributes detailed reports and findings to a variety of stakeholders, providing clear and concise summary analysis.
- Assists in the creation of presentations for management regarding sales trends, activity efforts, and future initiatives.
- Analyzes geographic and specific product sales potential of territories and regions.
- Works collaboratively with other analysts in gathering and analyzing complex data and providing solutions and insights.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Advanced excel skills required with a knowledge of and ability to use the entire Microsoft suite as well as data visualization tools such as Tableau and Power BI.
- Ability to effectively consult with all levels of Distribution stakeholders.
- Must be a detail-oriented and well-organized with the ability to work both individually and in a team environment.
- Strong understanding of CRM functionality and utilization, including business processes, data, and reporting tools. .
- Ability to adhere to data governance standards set by the organization and work with confidential information.
- Ability to analyze 1st, 2nd, and 3rd party research.
- Strong written and verbal communication with an ability to explain complex data and reporting to all members of the organization.
- Ability to prioritize projects, handle multiple tasks, meet deadlines and work under pressure.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze data and deliver solutions.
- Proficient in leveraging and creating spreadsheets for modeling and analyzing business and sales trends.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience required.
1+ years of data analytics, business intelligence, or financial services industry experience required.
Experience with Tableau or Power BI and similar tools preferred.
