INVESTMENT DIRECTOR, PDCA
Who We’re Looking For
The Investment Director US- PDCA will work on the Private Debt & Credit Alternatives team, reporting to the Americas Senior Product Strategist. The investment director will primarily be a support for client communications and sales and be both internally facing (client group) and externally facing (clients, consultants, platforms).
The successful candidate will have the ability to communicate complex investment concepts simply, to deliver marketing presentations related to funds/strategies or educational sessions, to provide investor servicing updates, and to communicate basic fund and strategy characteristics. The position is hands on and requires materials creation (Data management, presentations, performance charts and comparisons). Research of peers and universe performance, ranking and competitor intelligence. Co-ordination of required information and its provision to a range of internal and external clients. This role supports interaction and servicing of existing clients including materials and communications formation and interaction and documentation for prospects and new clients (fundraising).

Position Overview
To support the growth of Schroders Capital’s PDCA business, the group is hiring an Investment Director to manage activities related to our clients (support and new capital acquisition) in the Americas region. This role will focus on support for the PDCA continuum from liquid alternatives to private credit, and from funds to separately managed institutional accounts. Fixed income/credit alternatives experience is required as this is a hit-the-ground-running job.
The position is based in New York.
The Investment Director will be responsible for supporting the PDCA business as by bringing technical expertise available to our clients and client group. This role is often described as CPM (client portfolio manager) or Investment Director. It is heavily focused on client product support. This role is for PDCA and focused on our investment strategies which span securitized products, asset-based finance, infrastructure debt, real estate debt and insurance linked securities (ILS). This is support for mandates, closed-end funds and liquid UCITs (full continuum). As well, there will be support for our growing private markets business in closed-end and semi-liquid funds.
This support will be done within a global team. The role will report to the Senior Product Strategist (Americas). The individual will be expected to possess some experience in a similar, or related, role, in a fixed-income or credit product and previous experience working with fixed income in a high-throughput environment, such as an investment bank, is a plus. Key skills include robust project management, attention to detail, strong communication and team work ability, with career development expected either into senior product strategist role, investment role or sales/client role.
Key responsibilities include client reporting (existing funds and mandates), marketing presentations (new closed-end and existing open-end fund and mandates), responding to internal (sales) and external (investor) queries, understanding investor reporting and sales pipeline data management. Educational material and internal and external education.
What You’ll Do - Assist and lead on support for the PDCA business with institutional investors, consultants, private banks and other identified client channels such as insurance. Including managing the completion/ quality of deliverables associated with all client engagement activities:
- Attend investment team meetings and consume research related to infrastructure, real estate, asset-based finance, securitised credit, risk transfer, fixed income, leverage loans, etc, keeping fully abreast of the team’s market outlook, positioning, strategy, and individual trade examples across both liquid and illiquid securitized product and asset-based finance instruments. Co-ordinate external research views (consultants, platforms, banks)
- Prepare, update or access strategy/fund presentations, fact sheets, sales aids and quarterly/monthly investment reports
- Prepare, understand, calculate and report portfolio characteristics, statistics, and other investment data for our investment strategies
- Create, write, update product language and data for fixed income/securitized and private debt products, specifically asset-based finance and securitized products, in databases and work with stakeholders to complete and customize RFPs, DDQs and RFIs as needed for the region including data room and consultant and client databases with relevant materials
- Conduct market research on competitors, target investors, market trends, ESG/sustainability topics
- Work alongside sales teams and work with product executives to prioritize ad-hoc analysis and daily product/client queries, attending client meetings
- Support due diligence processes, fund closings and product launches or campaigns. This will include working alongside several stakeholders including our investment team, sales partners, product structuring, fund operations and legal counsel
- Research, organize and attend relevant conferences to support core fundraising activities
- Provide basic internal and external education.
The Knowledge, Experience And Qualifications You Need - Education & work experience
- Bachelor’s degree required (CFA or advanced degree a plus)
- 3-5+ years of work experience in investment banking, fixed income capital markets, investor relations, investment management, rating agency or investment consulting
- Knowledge of fixed income (required) and private credit markets a plus
- Skillset & work ethic

- Highly proactive, organized, pursuing a structured approach to deliverables with time management skills
- Strong intra team communication skills, team-oriented approach
- Strong content creation skills (high level of proficiency in MS PowerPoint)
- Strong finance, math, data management, and quantitative skills (high level of proficiency in MS Excel. Experience with Macros and VBA a plus)

Compensation
Schroders offers a base salary in a range of $135,000 to $150,000 for this position.
The referenced salary range is based on the Company's good faith belief at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as geographic location, work experience, market conditions, education/training and skill level.
