Opportunity and Position Summary:
The Acquisitions Analyst is part of the Core and Value Advisors (“CVA”) business line, which includes both funds and separate accounts with asset strategies ranging from core to value-add to ground-up development. This junior role will focus on investment analysis within target markets in the Sun Belt. This role is both a qualitative and quantitative position where both strong written and analytical skills are necessary. All major property types may be analyzed. This role provides strong mentorship opportunity.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Support senior team members by coordinating onboarding of new investments.
- Analyze market research to evaluate prospective new investment opportunities or strategies.
- Maintain and enhance internal data collection processes including sales tracking, income statement analysis, and pipeline updates.
- Provide support in the creation of internal and external presentations and memos regarding proposed investment opportunities, new investment vehicles and existing investments.
- Work with senior team members in the analysis, documentation, and execution of various capital transactions, including acquisitions, partnerships, financings, development programs and ultimate exit opportunities.
- Interface with internal and external parties, such as operating partners, leasing/sales brokers, lenders, accounting teams, legal counsel and other market contacts as needed.
- Assist in presenting investments in I.C. meetings as needed.
Skills and Competencies:
- All candidates must have a BA or BS degree from an accredited institution, with preferred degrees in real estate, finance, business, accounting, economics, or related area. Must have strong academic credentials.
- The ideal candidate will have 2 years or less of real estate finance experience and strong aptitude in financial modeling.
- Analytical skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
- Effective writing skills and ability to synthesize information, as well as verbal interpersonal/communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ability to function both in a team-oriented setting and independently.
- Strong sense of personal motivation, responsibility, and entrepreneurship with a desire to work in a fast-paced environment.
