Job Duties: Evaluate, test, and review internal controls over financial reporting to support the Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX)
- 404 compliance process. Evaluate key risks in financial reporting processes, effectively articulate risk issues to various stakeholders and propose changes in control design to address risks efficiently. Provide advice to the business (including Finance, Human Resources, Technology and Operations, among others) throughout the SOX process to continually enhance internal controls and create an efficient and effective SOX compliance process (and improve the firm’s internal controls over financial reporting). Understand external audit requirements to provide appropriate internal control and management testing documentation that meets those needs. Demonstrate knowledge of accounting principles, key SOX guidance and emerging topics for discussion with the team, external auditors and business regarding impact to the existing SOX framework. Coordinate and collaborate with other risk and control functions to evaluate the impact of their work on the SOX compliance program and coordinate efforts with them. Participate in ad-hoc projects and providing expertise and insights from a risk and controls perspective. Deliver semi-annual escheatment filings through partnership with internal stakeholders and an external compliance team. Prepare various payment type requests as part of the disbursements process. Train stakeholders on escheatment requirements and best practices and document internal procedures. Perform and track asset recovery through partnership with internal stakeholders and external consultants. Respond to internal and external audit requests and inquiries. Review quarterly liability account reconciliations.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field; and 24 months experience in the job offered or in a related occupation. Requires 24 months of experience involving the following: 1. SOX legislation and implementation; 2. Accounting and audit principles (like U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and abandoned property laws; 3. Project management; 4. Developing innovative solutions to enhance processes and address control gaps; 5. AuditBoard; 6. Deloitte Connect; 7. Oracle; 8. Account Reconciliation Cloud Services (ARCS); 9. Coupa.

For New York, NY Only the salary range for this position is USD$100,092.00 - USD$130,000.00 . Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, and benefits including heath care, leave benefits, and retirement benefits. BlackRock operates a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy and your total compensation may vary based on role, location, and firm, department and individual performance.
