Salary Range:
$120,000 USD - $165,000 USD
Specific compensation will be based on candidate’s experience, skills, qualifications, commercial considerations, and other job-related factors permitted by law. Job Description:
Russell Investments is seeking an experienced Senior Risk Manager to serve as a key member of the Global Risk Management (GRM) team. The successful candidate will lead the firm’s operational resiliency efforts globally and manage the Third-Party Risk Management (TPRM) and Business Continuity (BC) programs. The Senior Risk Manager will report to the Head of Operational Risk and plays a critical role in safeguarding the organization by proactively managing operational risks, promoting resilience, and ensuring adherence to risk related standards.
Your Core Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a small team of risk professionals responsible for the third-party risk management and business continuity programs at Russell Investments.
- Maintain and enhance the TPRM program and oversee the execution of the program across the first and second lines of defense.
- Maintain and enhance the BC program (business continuity, crisis management, IT disaster recovery, facilities/life safety) and oversee the execution of business unit business impact assessments, business continuity plans and disaster recovery exercises globally.
- Prepare and present risk reports to senior management, relevant committees and stakeholders, highlighting key risk and mitigation strategies.
- Lead the assessment of TPRM, BC, and operational resiliency risks associated with new business, products, geographies and regulatory changes, as required.
- Assess and implement regulatory requirements for the TPRM and BC programs in collaboration with relevant business units.
- Develop a detailed understanding of the firm’s organizational and legal structures along with critical business units and their processes globally.
- Drive the operational resiliency culture of the organization through application of the risk management process.
- Support, challenge and educate the First Line using influencing and negotiating skills to identify, assess and control TPRM and BC risks.
Your Expertise:
- Bachelor's Degree required.
- MS or MBA, preferred.
- Minimum 6-8 years of experience in the finance industry.
- Strong understanding of risk management frameworks and best practices.
- Experience managing third party and/or business continuity programs.
- Experience with risk management applications (GRC, BCP, TPRM) such as Metricstream, Archer, Everbridge, Venminder, DiligenceVault.
- Demonstrated initiative to work independently and engage, undirected, in execution of responsibilities while collaborating with a global team.
- Strong collaboration skills and ability to work in a matrixed, international organization.
- Ability to influence and manage cross-functional stakeholders with conflicting priorities.
- Demonstrate a curiosity and openness to learn from experiences and setbacks.
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
