Job Description
Ares is currently searching for a highly motivated team player to join as an Associate for the Secondary Solutions Investor Relations Group. Based in New York, the candidate will report to the Head responsible for Infrastructure Secondaries Investor Relations and will be part of a team effort responsible for all aspects of investor relations for Ares’ secondaries activities, predominantly focused on infrastructure products.
The candidate will support the development and rollout of new investment offerings across infrastructure secondaries strategies, working in collaboration with members of the Ares Secondary Solutions Group, relationship managers and investment, finance and accounting, compliance, tax, legal and structuring professionals from the Secondary Solutions team as well as across the broader Ares platform to support various workstreams with both existing and prospective investors. The candidate will help to maintain and update marketing materials, provide investor relations support, including written and oral communications with existing and potential investors, as well as market and competitor research and analysis. The candidate will also assist in fundraising and due diligence requests for funds which are in market, as well as prepare for quarterly / annual interactions with existing investors. The candidate must have strong organizational, interpersonal, qualitative and analytical skills and must be able to navigate complicated processes and meet tight deadline requirements. Along with a preference for prior experience in investor relations (either in-house or as part of a placement agent) and alternatives industry, the candidate must be a team player, be highly detail orientated, and have strong organizational, interpersonal, and analytical skills.
Primary functions & responsibilities:
Product Development & Investor Relations:
- Create and edit marketing and other investor-facing materials for European real assets products
- Respond to a broad range of client requests for European real assets products
- Collaborate with team members to develop and maintain fundraising and due diligence materials such as private placement memorandums, pitch books, investor presentations, due diligence questionnaires and other ad hoc correspondence
- Work across functions to obtain and synthesize information from the investment, ESG, reporting, and accounting teams to prepare investor communication materials
- Produce quarterly portfolio reports and letters for investors, working with investment teams, portfolio managers, finance and accounting to collate relevant data
- Drive process for creating responses to investor questionnaires, due diligence, and ad hoc requests for existing and potential clients
- Maintain quantitative and qualitative key metrics on competitors
- Assist in maintaining the Intralinks due diligence and reporting data rooms
- Take on ad hoc projects and support all other teammates with their work as needed
Experience Required:
- 2-5 years of relevant experience in an alternative investment firm, investment bank, placement agent, asset management firm, with real estate and/or infrastructure knowledge or experience preferred
- Knowledge of the alternatives industry, based on investment, portfolio management, and/or marketing and investor relations
General Requirements:
- Strong communication, writing and presentation skills
- Exceptional attention to detail, placing a high priority on accuracy and organization
- Highly motivated self-starter with the ability to set priorities, multi-task and monitor own workload to meet tight deadlines
- Advanced experience with Excel, PowerPoint
Education & Qualifications:
- Advanced degree, preferred from a leading institution or equivalent experience
- Helpful if holds Series 7 / 63 and SIE or ability to obtain

Compensation
The anticipated base salary range for this position is listed below. Total compensation may also include a discretionary performance-based bonus. Note, the range takes into account a broad spectrum of qualifications, including, but not limited to, years of relevant work experience, education, and other relevant qualifications specific to the role.
$120,000 - $145,000
