$182,510-$232,700
Work Schedule:
8:00am-5:00pm Monday through Friday (Onsite)
General Summary:
Under the direction of the deputy executive director, Finance/Chief Financial Officer (CFO), oversee and direct all accounting operations including investment accounting, investment performance, budget, accounts payable and receivable, general ledger and fixed assets. Ensure integrity of accounting records and accuracy of financial statements and investment performance results.
Summary of Responsibilities:
Manage and oversee all accounting and investment performance operations. Lead staff meetings and provide leadership, direction and mentoring for the team including succession planning and staffing. Participate in all aspects of the Performance Management Process by providing input and feedback on associate performance and goals.
Serve as the accounting point of contact for management, board members, internal users and external audit firm. Stay abreast of current and upcoming accounting and investment performance standards and other regulations.
Coordinate the review and implementation of technology initiatives for the Finance team, including operational efficiencies, production fixes, and system upgrades.
Prepare and present the annual operating and capital budget for Senior Staff, executive director and the Retirement Board. Participate and provide questions and information to the executive director and deputy executive director, Finance/CFO for the department budget meetings.
Coordinate and prepare financial statements, schedules and disclosures in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and the Government Accounting Standards Board (GASB) for the Annual Comprehensive Financial Report (ACFR) and the Office of Budget and Management (OBM). Oversee the annual Global Investment Performance Standards (GIPS) compliant presentation and the external performance verification and performance examination.
Maintain banking, custodial banking and Treasurer of State relationships as well as the Defined Contribution (DC) plan record keeper. Help facilitate updates and reviews as necessary.
Maintain written accounting policies and procedures. Perform other tasks or projects as assigned by the deputy executive director, Finance/CFO.

Summary of Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or related field required.
Master’s degree in accounting, finance or related field preferred.
Seven or more years’ experience in accounting or finance including supervision of professional staff required.
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) required.
Broad exposure to full accounting cycle with demonstrated ability to understand and analyze accounting reports, trial balances, and financial statements required.
Demonstrated ability to lead, coach and mentor associates and peers and foster a culture of teamwork required.
Interpersonal skills necessary to deal effectively and courteously with internal and external contacts required.
