The Role:
The Private Wealth Global Portfolio Solutions & Strategy team (GPSS) is responsible for providing sales and investment life-cycle support across Blue Owl’s various commercial products in the Private Wealth channel across Credit, Real Estate, and GP Strategic Capital.
We are hiring a Principal to lead the Due Diligence team. This role will be responsible for a broad range of Private Wealth client service and strategic initiatives across Blue Owl’s Private Wealth platform, with a focus on platform diligence across all products. This role manages a growing team of diligence across all business verticals and will partner internally as our distribution platform grows with North America, EMEA and APAC sales, Marketing and the various investment businesses. For Diligence, the team is responsible for delivering investment and operational diligence processes, as well as supporting our existing partners through ongoing due diligence requests and routine performance updates. This role will also serve as a critical partner to the Head of GPSS in growth initiatives as we continue to build capabilities across products and geographies. The role will also be responsible for various strategic initiatives with senior management and the investment teams to support and grow Blue Owl’s credit business within private wealth.
Responsibilities:
Lead Due Diligence
Create strategic plan and organizational design review for the Diligence function in Private Wealth.
Manage and grow team of asset class specialists in delivering new and ongoing diligence resources for global platforms.
Build diligence functionality to support new markets and as-yet-to-be launched products and new asset classes.
Organize and maintain due diligence pipeline for new and ongoing diligence initiatives across Credit products.
Grow organization to incorporate internal client facing management by Private Wealth business units, including PWM, R&I, RIA, EMEA, APAC, Australia/Japan as well as new markets.
Communicate details around the firm, fund products and strategies including portfolio and investment-level information to support on site client visits for investment and operational diligence.
Alongside Head of GPSS, develop global strategy for GPSS, ensuring alignment with Blue Owl’s growth objectives.
Partner across sales/strategic accounts and portfolio strategy teams within Private Wealth to ensure consistently excellent client service.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or CFA preferred.
12+ years of experience in Diligence, Investor Relations, Product Specialist Coverage, or a related function within asset management, private equity, or alternative investments.
5-7 years of experience preferably in alternatives or wealth management (financial services experience strongly preferred).
Strong track record of successfully leading teams and scaling capabilities globally.
Proven ability to develop and execute strategic planning across multiple asset classes, with expertise in credit, real assets, and/or strategic capital.
Exceptional leadership and stakeholder management skills, with experience leading cross-functional teams in a complex, fast-paced environment.
Deep understanding of the alternative investment ecosystem, including key trends, challenges, and opportunities in asset classes and fund structures.
Strong leadership and project management skills, with a collaborative mindset.
Self-starter, comfortable in a fast-paced environment and driving strategy and process with whitespace.
Strong communication and project management capabilities.
Excellent quantitative and analytical skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, growing environment while staying focused and organized.
It is expected that the base annual salary range for this New York City-based position will be $225,000 to 250,000. Actual salaries may vary based on factors, such as skill, experience, and qualification for the role. Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus, based on factors such as individual and team performance.
