What you'll be doing
As a Business Systems Analyst, you’ll work in a fast-paced environment where you’ll make a meaningful difference in our clients’ lives.
You will assemble, implement and maintain easy, flexible, and personalized solutions that enhance the client experience across Commercial Banking, Corporate and Employee technology. You’ll lead the planning and strategy for the technical design, development and integration of these applications.
Work Arrangement:At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role. To successfully perform the work, you’ll work in a hybrid environment with the expectation to be onsite at least 2 days per week in Chicago Downtown while the other days may be remote.
How you'll succeed
Technical Design - Lead in defining specifications, development and integration of cross-functional, multi-platform application systems while providing enhancements to existing technologies.
Analytic Skills - Analyze business process issues and/or problems and provide consulting assistance to system users; conduct research on possible solutions and make recommendations based on findings; develops proposal that outline feasibility and costs; suggest, design, test, implements, and evaluate solutions.
Strategic planning – Assist in the development of a multi-year technology roadmaps that align with the bank’s vision, strategy, and business goals. Lead multiple complicated projects involving backend systems, new technology, and the enhancement of existing applications.
Leadership skills - Act as the development team lead and run code-review sessions with the wider team to ensure the project is on track to meet goals. Support and mentor team members by sharing knowledge, collaborating and problem solving.
Who you are
You can demonstrate at least 3 years of business systems analysis experience with working on technical projects in the financial services industry with a relevant post-secondary degree. Familiarity with commercial loan origination, account opening processing, and FIS payment systems would be particularly relevant.
It’s an asset if you have experience with Microsoft Azure, DevSecOps, C#, SQL XML, Power BI or another business intelligence platform. Knowledge of Python or R would be valuable.
You can demonstrate experience with the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) to elicit and capture business requirements, either through the traditional waterfall model or an agile method (Scrum). Familiarity with an issue management system like ServiceNow or JIRA would be an asset.

At CIBC, we offer a competitive total rewards package. This role has an expected salary range of $100,000 - $125,000 for the New York, New York market based on experience, qualifications, and location of the position. The successful candidate may be eligible to participate in the relevant business unit’s incentive compensation plan, which also may include a discretionary bonus component.
