Position Summary
Hercules Capital, Inc. (“Hercules”) is an internally managed, publicly traded BDC providing financing solutions to high-growth, innovative venture capital-backed and institutional-backed companies. The Portoflio Operations Manager will help to manage the day-to-day business operations as it relates to loan boarding, servicing, and maintenance. This highly organized individual will act as a player / coach and work closely with colleagues across Accounting, Legal & Treasury functions.
Essential Responsibilities
- Help to build and manage the Central Operations Center.
- Own and eventually oversee loan processes; from onboarding into our systems, exposure tracking, cashflow tracking and all payoffs, receipts, and loan payments.
- Work with the team that will book loans from approval documents, create wire templates for closings, collect and apply incoming P+I payments on sole and multi-lender financings.
- Manage the administration of equity and warrant portfolio.
- As the team grows, additional responsibilities will include tracking and forecasting loan portfolio cash flow, managing collateral of loans, as well as managing the funded loans as collateral for the Company’s corporate loans and borrowing bases.
- Collaborate with legal team members track custody of funded loans and transfer among internally managed funds.
- Implement process improvements and recommend efficiencies.
- Administer, manage exceptions, and collaborate on the continual update of policies and procedures.
- Troubleshoots problems with internal stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a business, accounting, or finance concentration preferred.
- Minimum of 7 years of professional experience with loan & treasury operations; at least 2 years as a manager.
- Ability to read and understand financial statements and loan documents.
- Must be highly organized and have a strong attention to detail.
- Ability to lead projects and take ownership of processes.
- Familiarity with warrants and equity administration preferred.
- Demonstrated problem solver.
