This Manager, Sales Incentives Compensation role will be a critical part of the Global Sales Performance and Incentives team. This team is responsible for the sales incentive plan, territory, and quota design for all roles in the company’s sales organization. This role will work closely with senior business and sales leaders and be responsible for decisions that will impact the performance of the sales teams.
This is a high-profile role in the Commercial Excellence organization. You will have the opportunity to gain an in-depth understanding of multiple business units as you work with their leadership to design compensation structures that will effectively align performance with reward. You will be an expert in various sales incentive plan structures to provide the right motivation to sales teams. You will develop close relationships with business and sales leaders who will depend on you for advice and decisions throughout the year on sales compensation matters. You will also be a subject matter expert for other support functions such as HR, Sales Operations, and Finance.
About the Role:
In this opportunity as a Manager, Sales Incentives Compensation, you will:
- Be responsible for designing, issuing, and communicating annual sales incentive plans to the Thomson Reuters sales organization.
- Analyze, discuss, and evaluate the incentive plans that will be designed to motivate the sales organization in a way that aligns their priorities with the organization’s goals.
- Have daily interaction with business and sales leaders to evaluate the effectiveness of the incentive plans.
- Design supplemental incentives (SPIFFs) and enforce sales policies.
- Influence a number of key Thomson Reuters initiatives including sales role design, sales reporting, and compensation calculations.
- Have substantial exposure to sales and business leaders throughout the company, as well as close partnership with other support functions such as Finance, HR, Sales Operations, and Quota/Territory teams.
- Manage critical relationships across a diverse range of team members, often with competing priorities. (incl, Finance, Sales, Territories)
About You
You’re a fit for the role of Manager, Sales Incentives Compensation if your background includes:
- Thorough understanding of sales incentive plan structures with various types of designs and components.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to give difficult messages with ability to analyze, present, describe, and defend decisions.
- Ability to lead and coach other team members.
- Ability to balance attention to detail with aligning to the big picture.
- Strong analytical skills with a propensity towards data analysis and interpretation.
- Experience leading multi-functional and geographic project teams.
- A desire to gain detailed understanding of the many Thomson Reuters products in our various business segments.
- Ability to multi-task across multiple stakeholders and deliver accurately within tight deadlines.
- Bachelor’s Degree required. MBA Preferred.
- 7+ years’ experience designing and supporting sales incentive compensation.
- Must have very strong Microsoft Office skills, with a focus on Excel.
- Prior experience using Xactly, Varicent, Smartsheet, and Salesforce is a plus.
- Good sense of humor, empathy and the ability to work well under pressure.

The base compensation range varies across locations.
For any eligible US locations, unless otherwise noted, the base compensation range for this role is $99,400 - $184,600.
This role may also be eligible for an Annual Bonus based on a combination of enterprise and individual performance.
Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual’s knowledge, skills and experience with consideration given to internal equity. Base pay is one part of a comprehensive Total Reward program which also includes flexible and supportive benefits and other wellbeing programs.
