Job Summary
Director, Investor Relations and Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) will play an integral role in developing, implementing, and managing Raymond James’ investor relations and financial planning and analysis functions. Under general direction, this professional will manage and direct the preparation of quarterly and annual earnings reporting, along with firm-wide budget, forecasting and long-range planning. The Director will provide financial, strategic, and analytical support to corporate leadership and stakeholders. This position reports to the Senior Vice President, Investor Relations & Financial Planning and Analysis.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Partner closely with SVP, IR and FP&A to manage and strengthen firm relationships with financial community, including existing and targeted prospective investors and sell-side analysts.
- Maintain and execute plan for investor meetings, including 1x1 meetings, conferences, and investor days.
- Develop, implement, and manage core FP&A responsibilities including budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning.
- Analyze financial data (budgets, income statements, forecasts, etc.) and regularly perform variance and sensitivity analysis.
- Manage presentations and additional support materials used by senior management in a variety of investor-related settings. Work closely with financial reporting, strategy, legal, corporate communications, and businesses to prepare materials.
- Develop and execute internal and external communication strategies for quarterly earnings, annual budget, forecasting and long-range planning.
- Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with all organizational levels, including senior management and external stakeholders.
- Understand and report on financial results compared to analysts’ expectations on a quantitative and qualitative basis. Maintain a deep understanding of detailed consensus models and analyze significant variances between external and internal expectations.
- Direct analyst on team to support primary responsibilities
- Support preparation of monthly and quarterly reports, earnings releases, presentations, and executive scripts.
- Manage key FP&A functions by working closely with internal finance partners to streamline and enhance our budgeting and long-range forecasting process.
- Monitor relevant developments in the sector, not limited to, competitor earnings and news, product announcements, regulatory developments that potentially impact firm.
- Draft quarterly competitive summary to provide key trends and developments across the industry to firm executives and board of directors
- Manage the multi-year transition process to new financial system for budgeting and forecasting.
- Proactively assess and drive improvements in the various FP&A processes, tools, and systems to drive greater efficiency and effectiveness.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities, as assigned.
Knowledge of
- Raymond James Financial business, strategy, and culture.
- Advanced understanding of P&L, balance sheet and cash flow statements.
- Advanced understanding of financial modeling and forecasting.
- Advanced concepts, principles, and practices of finance and accounting.
- Current financial market and economic events.
Skill in
- Utilizing complex quantitative modeling and analysis to interpret financial data and identify trends.
- Advanced skills with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
- Approaching work with a collaborative mindset.
- Exceptional organizational abilities and keen attention to detail and accuracy.
- Interpersonal communication sufficient to interact with associates at all levels.

Education/Previous Experience
- Bachelor’s degree (B.A) in finance, economics, accounting, or business-related degree
- Minimum 10 years finance-related experience
- Any equivalent combination of experience, education and/or training approved by Human Resources.
- CPA not required***
