The Client Engagement Team Associate (Associate) will be a key member supporting the Outsourced Chief Investment Officer (OCIO) Client Engagement Team. Our clients are endowments, foundations and other nonprofits. This role will support the sales and relationship teams in all facets of client engagement, including identifying and researching business prospects, driving attendance for key events, maintaining accurate information in Salesforce, and providing support for client and prospect meetings. The candidate will work on a team and bring excellent project management skills, be task and detail oriented and have a solid understanding of the investment environment. Strong interpersonal skills are needed to effectively manage the responsibilities of this role.
The Associate will be responsible for searching industry media and publications reports, developing marketing projects, and organizing research and materials for RFP and/or finals presentations as well as preparing client and investor materials. This role will utilize the systems available to the team to support the sales and relationship management activities of our prospective and current clients.
This role can be based in our Wilton, CT Headquarters or NYC office. Our Wilton office is moving to Norwalk (Merritt 7) in the fall of 2025.
We are currently hybrid, three days in the office with the requirement to be in Wilton one of those days.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Research potential prospects for identification, lead qualification, and opportunity development with primary focus on decision makers, trustees, investment staff, and other service providers
- Generate and qualify leads, including “know your client” information
- Manage and record all activities, campaigns, and opportunities within the CRM system for use in ongoing territory analysis and marketing efforts
- Support lead generation, activities and meetings, adhering to compliance policies and procedures
- Coordinate follow-up requests and action items from client and prospect meetings
- Prepare analytics for RFPs and other special projects
- Work closely with Marketing to coordinate regional events and conferences and assist in the efforts to drive attendance
REQUIRED BACKGROUND:
- Four-year degree is required
- 1-3 years of investment management experience preferred with a focus on business development
- Must be a self-starter and demonstrate a passion for sales; strong understanding of financial marketplace; detailed oriented with excellent project management skills
- Ability to manage time effectively, multi-task and work well under pressure in a team environment
- Excellent organizational, phone, writing and verbal communication skills
- Mastery of verbal and digital presentation capabilities
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with individuals at all levels of a client or prospect organization
- Proficient use of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- CRM / Salesforce skills are a plus
