Baird’s Private Wealth Management (PWM) Academy team strives to deliver modern, effective learning solutions to drive professional development for Baird’s greatest asset – our associates. The PWM Learning & Development Consultant is a combined role of engaging facilitation, and coaching and advising our internal clients with the goal of creating optimal learning experiences.
Additionally, it involves seamlessly integrating a comprehensive associate experience through PWM Learning & Development Programs.
As a PWM Learning & Development Consultant, You Will
- Facilitate original, creative, and effective development curriculum aligned with strategic priorities and competencies.
- Facilitate sessions to train trainers, such as Subject Matter Experts, to ensure effective knowledge transfer of new courses and curricula in preparation for final handoff to appropriate Program Managers.
- Identify opportunities for improvement to optimize current academy learning programs and continuously solicit feedback from key stakeholders including Talent, Executive Market Directors, Wealth Solutions Group and Operations when appropriate to keep curricula current and relevant to changing business needs.
- Co-design and facilitate PWM-customized power skills curricula (Insights, Accountability, Situational Leadership and Crucial Conversations) with other PWM Managers.
- Partner with Corporate Events and other key stakeholders on large-scale learning events (i.e. symposiums).
- Leverage existing and new delivery mechanisms (online webinars, in-person classroom experiences, and digital content) to enhance learning and development outcomes through modern program facilitation.
- Maximize learning experiences by skillful use of available tools and establish follow-up resources for continued learning.
- Collaborate with PWM Academy Managers to identify shared learning opportunities and outcomes.
- Coach participants of PWM Academy courses, individually and/or in groups, to further hone the skills learned in development offerings.

What We Look For
- Five years as an experienced, polished, exemplary in-person and virtual facilitator of adult learning.
- Critical thinking and proactive problem-solving skills, especially as it relates to people-related opportunities and issues.
- Experience coaching individuals and groups as a follow-up to development opportunities.
- Financial services and/or Baird experience of 5+ years. Experience in areas such as Talent Development, Human Resources, Talent Management, Adult Learning, Sales Training, or Organizational Development preferred.
- Certifications in Insights Discovery, Crucial Conversations, ADKAR, StrengthsFinder, EQ, Situational Leadership, Oz Principle are a plus
- Experience with learning technologies, hosting a variety of learning solutions using a variety of media.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Securities Industry Essentials (SIE) Exam, Series 7, and Series 66 or Series 63 and Series 65 licenses preferred or willingness to become licensed in 18 months
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) with the ability to learn and effectively navigate Baird’s Private Wealth Management technology platforms
- 25-30% travel
