The Wealth Strategist I provides wealth planning and advice to existing and prospective clients on advanced estate planning, tax planning, cash-flow modeling, risk management/ insurance analysis, educational modeling, and other wealth planning concepts. This role also collaborates closely with Wealth Advisors to converting prospects into clients with assets under supervision. Professionals in this role present to various audiences on key wealth planning topics and promote William Blair’s Private Wealth Management function.
Responsibilities Include But May Not Be Limited To
- Provide personal wealth planning analysis, counsel and advisory services for high-net-worth and ultra-high net worth private and institutional clients in the following areas: cash flow planning, investment planning/asset allocation, income tax planning, risk protection/insurance, retirement planning and estate planning.
- Develop holistic estate and investment analyses, applying sophisticated trust and tax knowledge and understanding of regulations that may affect wealth strategies.
- Develop and maintain strong and trusted relationships with PWM Wealth Advisors and their high-net-worth clients, understanding their financial goals and providing exceptional client service to enhance satisfaction and retention.
- Prepare analyses and coordinate with PWM Wealth Advisors to conduct client meetings and presentations, articulating the value of our wealth strategy solutions and providing tailored advice to address clients’ complex financial needs. Collaborate on complex client situations with Wealth Strategy colleagues where appropriate.
- Drive business growth by identifying and pursuing new client acquisition opportunities, leveraging existing networks, and implementing strategies to expand the client base.
- Stay informed about market trends, industry developments, and competitive landscape to identify potential opportunities and threats. Provide insights and recommendations to clients and internal teams.
- Work closely with internal teams to ensure seamless execution of wealth strategies and delivery of exceptional client service.
- Support initiatives to attract new clients through networking events, referrals, and strategic partnerships. Develop and implement marketing and outreach strategies to enhance the firm’s visibility and reputation.
- Act as a mentor to less experienced team members.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree required
- CFP certification, CPA, or JD required
- 8+ years of experience in financial planning or related function required.
- Series 7 and 66 preferred; SIE exam and Series 7, 66 will need to be completed within 120 days (new hires - post 10/1/2018, for US only)
- Exceptional ability to build and sustain high-quality client relationships, with a strong focus on delivering strategic and personalized financial advice.
- Extensive knowledge of wealth management strategies for high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth private and institutional clients, including investment, estate planning, tax strategies, and risk management.
- Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills with a track record of developing and implementing successful financial strategies.
- Proficiency in financial planning software, CRM systems, and advanced data analysis tools.
- Strong experience utilizing Microsoft Office products and working knowledge of standard industry wealth planning software tools (eMoney, MoneyGuide Pro, etc.)
- Travel may be required as needed
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
A reasonable estimate of the current base salary range at time of posting is below. Base salary does not include other forms of compensation or benefits. Actual base salary within the specified range is based on several factors, including but not limited to applicant's skills, prior relevant experience, specific degrees and certifications, job responsibilities, market considerations and, if applicable, the location of the position.
This role is eligible for either a discretionary annual bonus (based on company, business unit and individual performance) and/or commission-based incentives.

Salary Range
$83,500—$120,000 USD
