Job Description:
The VP, Institutional and Private Market Sales is responsible for identifying and cultivating prospects and clients within the Institutional market, including Foundations, Endowments, ERISA Plans, and Subadvisors. They initiate and follow up on new business opportunities, leads new business meetings, close sales, and develop and maintains relationships with ongoing updates about the investment philosophy, process and performance of the firm's specific products. Additionally, they support both the product management and national accounts team on the creation and set up of private offerings.
Strategic focus: Identifying Institutional opportunities for Ark Invest and Resolute affiliates and distributing private funds in Institutional and Intermediary Sales channels alongside Resolute's sales team.
Key Responsibilities
- Originates new Institutional investor relationships
- Identify and cultivate Institutional prospects and/or clients
- Closes the sale of investment services to prospects and/or clients
- Leads sales initiatives, identifies client needs and coordinates efforts to serve assigned Institutional clients
- Follows up on client contacts, calling on existing and potential clients
- Provides clients with investment performance updates as well as general client servicing
- Makes presentations to existing and prospective shareholder/clients
- Acts as a liaison for the Product Management Committee for private strategies
- Prepares presentations on new strategies or products for the Product Management Committee
Requirements
- Ten or more years of asset management/financial services industry with direct experience and relationships in Institutional and Advisory Sales
- Experience with Private and Alternative products
- Excellent sales skills and in-depth product knowledge
- Excellent interpersonal, presentation, oral and written communication skills and be highly ethical
- Strong planning, organization, analytical and technical skills
- Ability to handle multiple responsibilities concurrently and work independently to perform a variety of tasks with accuracy and attention to detail
- Team player with the ability to drive key decisions in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
- High willingness for business travel, including attending investment conferences and shareholder/prospect meetings
- College degree in business administration or equivalent work experience
- NASD license series 7 required; CFA, CIMA, CFP and/or MBA preferred
