Sound Point Capital Management, a credit-oriented investment manager overseeing approximately $44 billion in total assets, is seeking a Director-level manager to lead a middle office operations function in support of the firm's Direct Lending investment team.
Sound Point has a diverse product line which includes CLOs and various funds that invest in stressed and distressed credit, commercial real estate, structured products, consumer loans, and corporate special situations. Based in New York, the firm employs more than 200 talented individuals and has grown steadily since inception.
Job Responsibilities
- Oversee process from deal setup to deal exist.
- Maintain relationship with investment team.
- Attend investment team meetings and liaise with operations team.
- Maintain relationship with subagent for agented deals.
- Setup and prepare reporting of investors and investment team.
- Oversee and review all reporting for clients and investment team.
- Oversee setup of new deals.
- Oversee new trade bookings and fundings.
- Oversee Daily cash and position reconciliation with custodians and fund admins.
- Oversee daily account activity at custodians.
- Respond to inquiries from clients, custodians, administrators, and auditors.
- Maintain accounting system and activity bookings.
- Review and reconcile deal activity.
- Instruct wire movements.
- Perform month-end reconciliation and closing with the Accounting team and fund administrator.
- General database reconciliation and updates.
Qualifications
- Candidates must have a minimum of 6 years previous experience in financial operations or accounting roles at a bank, asset manager, or fund administrator.
- Prior fixed income operations (buyside or sellside) is required.
- Working knowledge of the functions and life cycles of different investment products such as bonds, bank loans, swaps, options, and equities.
- Highly organized with a keen sense of accuracy.
- Candidate must have strong skills in Microsoft Excel and Outlook.
- An undergraduate degree is required.
- Ideal candidate is particularly attentive to details, analytical, organized, and able to handle stressful situations with ease.
- Exhibits a high degree of initiative with the ability to work independently, exercises good judgment and completes assignments thoughtfully.
- Experience with database accounting systems, order management systems and reconciliation systems is preferred.
- Knowledge of Advent Geneva, Allvue Everest, or Indus Valley Partners ("IVP") products is a plus.
Salary Range
$150,000 - $200,000
