Overview
The D. E. Shaw group seeks an experienced professional to join its Learning & Development (L&D) team. The innovation-focused L&D team develops customized learning offerings to help the firm’s talent excel in their careers. This new role will focus on designing and implementing learning programs that enhance professional skills and increase employee effectiveness across all levels of the organization, from entry-level staff to managing directors. This role offers the opportunity to work in a collaborative, engaging, and inclusive environment.
What You'll Do Day-to-day
As a Learning & Development lead, you’ll drive strategy, develop content, and design creative, highly bespoke learning offerings for staff across various roles, including building foundational skills in early-tenure employees and addressing the nuanced needs of senior leaders. Skills covered could include stakeholder management, strategic thinking, project management, prioritization, effective interviewing, and time management, among others. You’ll collaborate with internal and external experts to deliver customized programming—such as group and 1:1 coaching, case-based workshops, and on-demand resources—while measuring the impact of these initiatives. Depending on your expertise and interest, you may also facilitate programs or coach staff. Additionally, you’ll work closely with Human Capital (HC) colleagues in areas like Talent Assessment & Performance, HC Analytics & Products, and HC Business Partners.
