Role Overview
As H.I.G. continues to experience significant growth, the ability to aggregate and analyze data across our investment strategies in a timely and effective manner has become increasingly critical. To support this need, we are excited to offer a new opportunity for a Business Analyst with a strong data focus to join our Finance team.
In this role, you will report directly to the Head of Data Governance and play a key part in advancing the firm’s data governance and quality initiatives. You will support ongoing data operations while also contributing to the onboarding of new systems and processes that enhance our data infrastructure. This role offers a highly collaborative environment, working closely with cross-functional teams—including Investment, Operations, Valuation, Tax, Investor Services, and Treasury—offering broad exposure to the firm’s operations and valuable opportunities to build strong internal networks.

Role Responsibilities
- Support BAU data collection and security/reference mastering processes. The process involves ensuring new securities are created in the Security Master and changes are updated on a monthly and quarterly basis.
- Collaborate with business areas and IT to drive improvements in the quality and value of our core data assets
- Manage Master Data by maintaining data dictionaries, models, categorizations, definitions and reference data
- Assist with special projects to standardize and enrich data across the platform to create meaningful reporting.
- Document and review data flow and delivery, prepare recommendations to streamline and standardize data integration.
- Adhere to the H.I.G. data governance framework and continue to improve the data management, data quality and data lineage of the firm’s data assets
- Manage and maintain new data warehouse that has been launched in 2025 and onboard new data sets.
- Manage Data Domains and Data Owners across functions to ensure they fulfill their responsibilities.
Requirements & Qualifications
- 4+ years of experience in financial services with a proven background working across various sectors including asset management, hedge funds, private equity, fund administration, custodial banking, and fintech environments.
- Bachelor’s degree with a major in Finance, Accounting, Computer Science or Data Management.
- Experience with data operations, data management, and data governance concepts and tools with implementation and operations experience.
- Comprehensive experience across the data lifecycle – Skilled in managing the full spectrum of data processes, including source data input, ensuring data quality, processing and throughput, and delivering accurate and timely reporting and outputs.
- Self-motivated problem solver and demonstrates strong critical thinking, analytical skills, and attention to detail.
- Proficient in data and systems analysis – Demonstrated ability to work with large and complex data sets, leveraging advanced tools and techniques to efficiently extract, aggregate, and manipulate data. Delivers accurate, actionable insights through a structured and detail-oriented approach.
- Consistently takes full accountability for deliverables, setting a high standard through a proactive attitude, meticulous attention to detail, sense of urgency, commitment to continuous improvement, and dedication to producing high-quality work.
- Strong planning and organizational skills with ability to adapt to new challenges in a dynamic environment while handling multiple projects.
- Experience with security master maintenance desired.
- Experience with private equity, private credit and real assets strongly desired.
- Working knowledge of platforms such as Azure, Atlas, Snowflake, Databricks, and similar technologies used for scalable data storage, processing, and analytics.
- Strong Excel skills (e.g., advanced formulas and functions).
- Hands-on experience with MS SQL and Python for data querying, analysis, and automation.
- Data Visualization tools: MS PowerBI preferred.
