Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly motivated individual to join our team. This position will be responsible for managing CenterSquare’s accounting data at the source level. An ideal candidate will drive automation efforts and oversee process/tech improvements as a key function of their job within the information management group. This role will assist in the accounting and reporting for the various entities owned and managed by the Private Equity group and will support the growth of CenterSquare’s Essential Service Retail strategy. The position will be based in CenterSquare’s Conshohocken office.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform monthly and quarterly accounting, and investment analysis for active RE investments.
- Record monthly and quarterly journal entries, including cash receipts, disbursements, and fair value adjustments.
- Assist in the preparation of client quarterly reports.
- Prepare quarterly client and consultant questionnaires.
- Calculate performance metrics and maintain performance workbooks on quarterly basis.
- Perform quarterly analysis of REIT tax compliance.
- Coordinate with external auditors for both fiscal year audits as well as SEC surprise custody examinations.
- Calculate and review advisor fees for private equity clients.
- Maintain the integrity of the accounting software used at CenterSquare.
- Assist in implementation of technology to automate reports and add efficiencies to the accounting close.
- Manage data and coordinate workflows amongst third-party PMs and outsourced accounting vendors
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, CPA License is a plus.
- 2-4 years in accounting and financial reporting position.
- Accounting/Information System Proficiency, MRI Real Estate Software is a plus.
- Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
- Ability to work within a team environment
- Strong analytical skills
- Proactive and self-motivated with a strong work ethic
- Ability to prioritize and execute effectively while multitasking
