Team Overview
KKR’s Real Estate Credit team leverages the Firm’s resources to underwrite properties, perform market research, participate in deal presentation, and present recommendations to the investment committee. The Real Estate Credit team’s primary focus is to invest in performing commercial real estate debt throughout the U.S. to attract stable and consist income. The team originates loans and invests in securities across the risk-return spectrum from stabilized to heavy transitional business plans via its KREF, KROX, KREST, RECOP I/II, RESTAC and Global Atlantic capital bases. The team is also responsible for our firm’s portfolio diversification as well as expanding our framework to capture relative value and differentiated access to transaction opportunities and market intelligence.
Position Summary
KKR is seeking a Senior Accountant to join its KKR Real Estate Credit division in Boston. The opportunity is to work on KKR Credit’s Real Estate private credit funds with a focus on the publicly traded mortgage REIT. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of success and advancement in prior roles and will be a person who has demonstrated strong technical fund and problem-solving skills. This candidate will also demonstrate a great appetite for knowledge and professional growth.
Responsibilities - Play an active role in completing quarter close processes, which include:
- Assisting with financial statements and disclosure preparation, including but not limited to rolling forward supporting workpapers and updating select sections in the 10Q/10K
- Performing various reconciliations including investment positions (loans, securities, and real estate), collection, and bank account activity
- Completing activities in support of internal controls
- Coordinate with respective property accountants to obtain and analyze our real estate holdings activity
- Assist with the preparation of journal entries, money movements, and invoices for payment
- Perform reviews of lender financing information (repayments / draws)
- Support liquidity management
- Assist with ad-hoc requests, investor questions, and frequent interaction with our marketing / client management and legal departments
- Frequent project coordination work
- Assist in driving accounting, reporting and business process simplification and efficiency initiatives
- Collaborate across the origination, asset management, tech, legal, investor relations and global finance teams
- Add to the culture and overall vision / mission of the team and firm
Qualifications
- 3+ years of relevant work experience (e.g. financial services/operations, REIT, real estate accounting, SEC Reporting)
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field; CPA and/or advanced degree in finance or related field preferred
- Strong verbal and written communications skills with the ability to interact with all levels of the organization
- Advanced user of Excel and highly proficient with MS Word and MS PowerPoint
- Prior experience with Geneva/Workiva is preferred, but not required
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively
- Proven ability to manage multiple demands and projects in a fast-paced work environment, including ability to prioritize time efficiently and handle heavy workloads while remaining attentive to detail
- Highly developed planning and organizational skills; able to anticipate change, adjust responses accordingly, and initiate steps to maximize resources toward a common objective

This is the expected annual base salary range for this Boston-based position. Actual salaries may vary based on factors, such as skill, experience, and qualification for the role. Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus, based on factors such as individual and team performance.
Base Salary Range
$100,000—$130,000 USD
