Who You’ll Work With:
This position will report to the Managing Director of Financial Control and Investor Accounting but will also require close working relationships across Fund Operations.
What You’ll Do:
Accounting and Reporting
Assist in oversight of the accounting and monthly close process for the AB CarVal funds, which includes close collaboration with the funds’ administrator and managing the monthly operating schedules.
Assist in the review and accuracy of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements in accordance with US GAAP for investment companies.
Assist in managing the year-end audit process, both internally across AB CarVal and externally with auditors and the administrator. This includes coordinating with auditors in various jurisdictions.
Work closely with CarVal functional areas on transactional matters and ensure integrity of accounting results and information.
Assist in the implementation of new accounting policies/accounting standards, in addition to monitoring the adherence to existing accounting policies.
Prepare and/or review ad-hoc reporting deliverables requested by senior management.
Review, understand and assist in ensuring compliance with the Fund’s Limited Partnership Agreements (LPA) and side letters.
Assist periodically in other aspects of the Fund Operations group, which may include investor requests, investor accounting, fund structuring and other cash or operational activities.
What We’re Looking For:
Required:
2+ years of accounting experience
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field
Demonstrated initiative in communicating and interacting with multiple functions
Strong commitment to internal controls
Ability to understand complex investment/fund structures, including the ability to translate the corresponding accounting and financial reporting implications
Natural curiosity and strong initiative to learn: Continuously evolving business environment; individual must be flexible in solutions and related approach
Ability to take initiative, work autonomously and handle multiple demands
Strong attention to detail, but also an equal ability to understand broad perspectives
Strong sense of urgency & ability to meet deadlines

In accordance with applicable law, the minimum and maximum base annual salary for this role is as follows:
Base Salary Range: $70,000 to $100,000
Actual base salaries may vary based on factors including but not limited to education, training, experience, past performance, and other job-related factors. Base salary is just one component of total compensation at AB, which may include, depending on eligibility, commissions, year-end incentive compensation, short- and long-term incentives and Department-specific awards.
