The Los Angeles County Employees Retirement Association (LACERA) is seeking highly motivated and career-oriented professionals for the position of Finance Analyst II, LACERA.
Responsibilities
The Finance Analyst II, LACERA position reviews, analyzes, and makes recommendations on the administration and management of LACERA’s investment portfolio. Positions allocable to this classification work under the administrative and technical direction of a Finance Analyst III, LACERA, and/or a Senior Investment Officer, LACERA who has immediate responsibility for an asset class of LACERA’s investment portfolio. Open positions are available in the Credit and Risk Mitigation, Private Equity, and Portfolio Analytics sections of the Investments Office.
The ideal candidate will possess experience:
- Conducting investment manager due diligence, including portfolio fit and optimization of risk-adjusted performance.
- Monitoring external investment managers for contractual compliance, investment performance, and conformance with guidelines.
- Assisting in the negotiation of terms with investment managers and/or other third-party service providers to promote alignment of interests and improve the expected outcomes for the total fund.
- Preparing visually effective presentations to inform a decision-making process and assisting with the delivery of presentations to a decision-making body such as a Board, Committee, and/or Executive Management.
- Collaborating with colleagues, consultants, investment managers, and stakeholders on cross asset class project teams.
- Participating in asset class investment committees contributing to investment recommendation discussions and insights into the execution of strategic asset allocation.
- Assisting with research on investment management strategy and structure according to established goals and guidelines.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Finance, Economics, Business Administration or a related field AND Two (2) years' responsible investment management experience assisting in the continuing supervision and review of an extensive investment program for a large financial institution or governmental agency. An additional two (2) years of the required experience may be substituted for a college degree. OR
- A master's degree in business administration or related field. OR
- Two (2) years' experience at the level of Los Angeles County's position of Finance Analyst I, LACERA.
