SUMMARY
Position's purpose is to support IMRF business processing using knowledge of the Ariel solution to assist with the understanding and utilization of the solution, support trouble shooting to identify issues prior to submission to vendor and to share knowledge with business and technical staff.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Advises and consults with staff to troubleshoot issues in the Ariel solution which include but are not limited to employer, member and annuitant eligibility, service, processing rules and benefit calculations, and other functions.
• Provides critical knowledge of how the pension solution works for I.S. staff and more importantly for the Business Solution Leads as they support corresponding functional areas.
• Provides feedback to the Business Process Owners regarding opportunities for ongoing training to colleagues.
• Reviews tickets prior to submitting to COTS vendor for support, and monitors resolution of tickets.
• Supports vision to maintain the highest level of customer service to our members and employers following IMRF web centric customer service model.
• Provides insight into how the solution can be leveraged to meet IMRF business goals and help reduce response time and duplication of manual work.
• Promote cross-program alignment and integration of processes globally throughout IMRF business areas.
• Works with technical support staff for creation of test conditions and test cases for software integration and system testing.
• Supports planning and issue resolution, solution test planning and execution.
• Assists staff by providing programs or ad hoc business specifications to report on data for IMRF.
• Communicates significant knowledge of IMRF system data - the inputs, processes, and outputs through written documentation and verbal description. Keeps documentation up-to-date and organized.
• Uses SQL application to write and execute queries and scripts related to data inquiries and analysis
• Assists IS Team Lead – EBS Business with analysis needed for developing data-driven resolution strategies within the Horizon solution
• Performs other technical and administrative duties as assigned.
• Provides user support and guidance in the application of business system functions.
• Adheres to project management processes and methodology.
• Supports other IMRF staff to develop end-user documentation and training materials.
• Supports end-user training delivery.

This position has no direct reports.

• Business experience in the Horizon Solution.
• Overall general knowledge and exhaustive business process knowledge of the Ariel Solution.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Required:
• Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts in Management, Business Administration, IT, or similar field.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in pension processes using the Ariel solution. This experience must include understanding Ariel solution processes such as benefit events processing; employer and member account management; wage reporting; buyback processing and payments; payroll processing; and member and employer self-service capabilities.
• Proficiency in MSOffice Suite.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common financial reports and legal documents.
• Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
• Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or the Board of Trustees.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
• Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as they pertain to IMRF business.
REASONING ABILITY
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
• Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

SALARY AND BENEFITS
The expected annual salary range for this role is $91,992- $120,000. Please note the salary information is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. The range listed is just one component of IMRF's total compensation package for employees.
