Overview
We are seeking a strategic and operationally astute Head of HR Shared Services to lead and evolve our US HR service delivery over the next 12-18 months. This role is pivotal in ensuring the seamless execution of core HR functions including HR operations, payroll, benefits, HR technology and policy and will act as the regional coordinator for all Group HR services delivered to the US businesses.
This role will be part of the Group HR Chief Operating Office leadership team. The role holder will work closely with Group HR UK colleagues and the US Head of HR to shape and deliver high impact, cost efficient HR services in the US, driving global consistency where possible, and embedding a continuous improvement mindset across the function and its stakeholders to enhance employee and line manager experiences. The role holder will partner with the Head of HR and business leaders to ensure alignment of HR service to the people and wider business strategy.
This role is expected to be for a duration of 12-18 months.
Responsibilities
HR Service Delivery:Lead the delivery of core HR services including payroll, benefits, and HR systems. Ensure scalability, compliance, and operational excellence.
Employee Experience:Champion a human-centered approach to HR services. Use feedback and service design to improve responsiveness and simplify processes.
Payroll, Benefits & Policy:Oversee payroll and benefits administration. Own US HR policies and handbooks. Manage vendor relationships and ensure regulatory compliance.
Technology & Innovation:Manage US HR systems (Dayforce) and collaborate globally on Oracle and SmartRecruiters. Drive automation and tech-enabled service improvements.
Change Management:Lead and support strategic people initiatives and change programs across the US.
Team Leadership:Build and mentor a high-performing HR team. Foster collaboration and continuous improvement.
Risk & Supplier Management:Ensure robust controls and proactive risk management. Oversee supplier relationships and service delivery quality.
Qualifications
HR Leadership:10+ years of progressive experience in HR, with a strong focus on operations, service delivery, and leading global matrix teams.
Digital Transformation:Proven success in applying AI, automation, and digital tools to modernize and enhance HR service delivery.
Expert Knowledge:Deep understanding of employee experience design, shared services, payroll, and benefits.
Technology Proficiency:Hands-on experience with HR systems such as Dayforce and Oracle, or similar platforms like Workday, ServiceNow, or SuccessFactors.
Strategic People Leadership:Strong business acumen, strategic thinking, and change leadership. Exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills. Proven ability to build high-performing teams and foster strong cross-functional relationships.
Salary Range
$140,000 to $170,000
The starting salary offer will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limited to the applicant’s education, job-related experience, skills, and abilities, geographic location, and market factors. This position is also eligible to participate in the company’s annual discretionary bonus plan.
