Overview
The Property Accounting Senior Analyst will be responsible for oversight of third-party providers, including day to day accounting, reporting, banking and operational support of the portfolio management team on various commercial and residential real estate assets. This role will report to and support the Property Accountant Manager on business requirements.
Responsibilities
- Review of monthly financial reports and schedules from third-party property managers and administrators
- Assist in developing and review budgets and forecasts
- Monitor and manage cash flow requirements, and work with third party banking provider on account openings and operating requirements
- Participate in the implementation, troubleshooting and utilization of new software and third-party integration
- Oversight of accounting records for entities holding real estate assets
- Monitor and ensure all required client reporting is verified and completed as required
- Prepare annualized income and expense projections each month to assist Property Management and client in cash flow management
- Prepare and analyze periodic excess net cash flow distribution calculations
- Work in Yardi to create journal entries for specific real estate properties as needed on limited basis
- Prepare data to support the annual financial statement audit and preparation of tax returns
- Coordinate with third party administrator, property managers, valuation agents, and maintain oversight of ongoing relationships and service delivery, in coordination with London based counterparts
- Project manage ongoing development of operational real estate investment support model and scalability to drive efficiencies in order to support long term business growth planning
- Monitor invoicing and set up payment via wire and letters of direction when required
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field
- 5-7 years of experience in commercial real estate or public accounting (with exposure to commercial and residential real estate)
- Experience with property development accounting a plus
- Intermediate to advanced with MS Office software/Excel
- Experience with Yardi a plus
- Prior experience working with and monitoring key third party providers, including outsourced administrators, property and valuation agents
- A self-starter who is vocal in identifying areas of improved efficiency and offer potential solutions
- Excellent analytical, technical, and problem-solving skills, with strong attention to detail
- Exceptional verbal and written communication, collaboration, and time management skills
Salary Range
$90,000-120,000
The starting salary offer will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limited to the applicant’s education, job-related experience, skills, and abilities, geographic location, and market factors. This position is also eligible to participate in the company’s annual discretionary bonus plan.
