Description & Requirements
The energy of a newsroom, the pace of a trading floor, the buzz of a recent tech breakthrough; we work hard, and we work fast - while keeping up the quality and accuracy we're known for. It's what keeps us inventing and reinventing, all the time. Our culture is wide open, just like our spaces. We bring out the best in each other through collaboration. Through our countless volunteer projects, we also help network with the communities around us, too. You can do amazing work here. Work you couldn't do anywhere else. It's up to you to make it happen.
What’s the role?
At Bloomberg Engineering & CTO Finance, we are committed to providing world-class support to our business partners in Engineering and CTO partners by providing insight on business performance, financial oversight and thought leadership.
We’re looking for a Finance Transformation Team Lead to modernize how Engineering & CTO Finance plans, allocates, and reports. As a leading member of this team, you will engineer and automate core finance processes end-to-end—then layer on analytics that surface clear recommendations—while representing Engineering and CTO Finance on firmwide transformation initiatives. You will be relied on simplifying complex cross-functional work into scalable, auditable systems that improve both efficiency and decision quality.
We’ll Trust You To
- Take a product management approach and own the vision and roadmap for transformation opportunities and tooling at Engineering & CTO Finance.
- Drive adoption & enablement: publish release notes, how-to guides, and short training; ensure dashboards and tools are intuitive and self-serve.
- Run transformation program governance: define roadmaps, OKRs, and success metrics; run steering routines; surface risks/mitigations; ensure adoption through training and clear documentation.
- Represent Engineering & CTO Finance on firmwide transformation programs working closely with the stakeholders.
- Turn data into decision and action-ready insights: frame choices, quantifying trade-offs, and recommend actions for CFOs and business leaders—while modernizing reporting and allocations through automation.
- Automate and create efficiencies for periodic reporting and analysis to create operating leverage and free capacity for strategic support
- Create efficiencies in cross-functional and inter-department reporting: automate and streamline recurring work using tools like Alteryx; design robust data models and taxonomies in close partnership with stakeholders
- Automate and bring transparency to Engineering and CTO allocations by analyzing and breaking down current processes and creating lineage reporting for allocations from senders to receivers; challenge methodologies and improve for stronger financial compliance.
You’ll Need To Have
- 10+ years of relevant experience in finance and/or technology within complex organizations.
- Bachelor’s degree (preferably in finance, engineering, or math).
- Demonstrated transformation or product management experience.
- A systems thinker with a builder’s bias—comfortable moving between architecture, data, and process details.
- Proven process automation & BI expertise; experience with Alteryx and/or Tableau (or similar), and comfort with data modeling and taxonomy design.
- A strong sense for UX in dashboards/tools—able to simplify complex models into decision-ready views.
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder management; confident presenting to CFOs and business leaders and translating technical details into clear decisions.
- Solid grasp of engineering financial planning/analysis, allocations, and cost drivers.
- A track record of building repeatable, controlled processes with documentation, testing, and change control.
- High ownership, crisp prioritization, and a strong sense of where automation and standardization create leverage.
- Ability to collaborate across the organization to align on outcomes and the roadmap.
We’d Love To See
- Flexibility to work in an entrepreneurial and fast-moving environment
- Familiarity with the Bloomberg Terminal
