Our Restructuring & Liability Management group is looking to add an Associate to its team of professionals. The group specializes in helping companies in financial distress and is an important strategic component of our Financial Advisory business. The team also helps advise creditors and other investors that hold positions in companies facing distress or are going through bankruptcy/reorganization. Through a combination of restructuring and industry-related expertise, we have solidified our place as the leading financial restructuring advisory firm in the world. This role is available in Chicago.
We’ll trust you to:
- Oversee development of financial models and analyses to evaluate transactions and other strategic decision making
- Prepare and create client presentations and meeting materials
- Interact with senior bankers and clients
- Mentor and train junior analysts, providing guidance on financial modeling, research, and best practices in investment banking
- Assist in deal execution and new business development
You’ll need to have:
- 2-4 years of relevant experience from an investment bank (preferably in restructuring, liability management or leveraged finance), or 3+ years of restructuring experience at a turnaround advisory firm, as a restructuring attorney or as a credit investor
- Top performance with comfort operating in an unstructured environment which values initiative, creativity, maturity, and poise
- Strong quantitative background and analytical skills coupled with meticulous attention to detail
- Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, FactSet, Bloomberg
- Excellent verbal/written communication skills with ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrated leadership skills and motivation to work as a team player and contribute to a positive team culture

We expect the base salary range for this role to be approximately $185,000 - $250,000 USD. Various factors contribute to determining the actual base compensation offered, including but not limited to the applicant’s years of relevant experience, career tenure, qualifications, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and relevant skills for the role. Base salary is one component of Lazard Financial Advisory’s compensation package, which also includes comprehensive benefits and may include incentive compensation.
