Position Description:
This entry-level role will give you the opportunity to become familiar with the processing and reconciliation of all firm and client trading and settlement activity. You will work with the Capital Markets Middle Office teams within Operations to support the day-to-day activities of the sales and trading for the Fixed Income Derivatives trading units. Additionally, you will have regular and consistent interaction with various other operational groups, as well as Finance, Risk, Compliance, and business management teams. You will be encouraged to think creatively, offer input, and add value to the team from day one. You will be expected to pursue your projects with excellence, a collaborative spirit, and with the highest levels of integrity.
Primary responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
- Assist in improving and streamlining our processes to gain efficiencies
- Understanding, executing, and maintaining the life cycle of transactions including coupons, corporate actions, cash settlements, dividends, credit events and expirations
- Input and verify trade bookings, settlement representations, and trade confirmations
- Participate and assist in regulatory reviews
- Allocate client trades as well as update risk positions for various desks
- Perform daily position and trade reconciliations between front office risk management systems and settlement systems
- Supporting product-specific Sales & Trading desks
- Working with Front Office Sales/Trading teams to on-board accounts in a client focused manner
Desirable Background & Skills:
- Candidate pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, engineering or related field
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Broad understanding of financial markets
- Demonstrate professionalism and exceptional client management skills
- Ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines
- Project management skills a plus
- Team player who excels at working both independently and as part of a team
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to multitask and manage a variety of projects simultaneously
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
