The SBA is seeking Senior Portfolio Manager to join the Fixed Income asset class. The Senior Portfolio Manager – Fixed Income is responsible for portfolio management of the Fixed Income Active Core and MBS passive portfolio. This position is located in Tallahassee, FL and requires on-site, in-office work.
What you will do:
• Performs portfolio management of the Fixed Income Active Core portfolio
• Constructs and manages the MBS Passive portfolio
• Manages and mentors Securitized Team staff
• Monitors and evaluates all Securitized Assets, including those outside of directly managed portfolios as needed
• Demonstrates ability to effectively manage human and financial resources
• Develops, implements and monitors strategic plans, or works in collaboration with the senior leader over the department to contribute to the success of the department/unit and overall organization
• Performs other duties as assigned
What you should have:
Ten years of related experience. A postsecondary degree may be used as an alternative for years of direct experience; 2 years for an associate’s degree, 4 years for a bachelor’s degree, 6 years for a master’s degree, 7 years for a professional degree, or 9 years for a doctoral degree.
Preferences:
• A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in finance, mathematics, accounting, economics, business, or a related field
• Seven or more years of related experience
• Three or more years of related supervisory experience
• Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) credential
• Master of Business Administration or master’s degree from an accredited college or university in finance, mathematics, accounting, economics, or a related field
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Extensive knowledge of Fixed Income investments in general and Securitized Assets in particular
• Extensive capital markets knowledge
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with comprehensive knowledge of finance and investment concepts
• Skill in trading all Investment Grade Fixed Income instruments – including derivatives, especially Securitized Assets
• Critical reasoning skills, with the ability to question and understand strategy and portfolio construction
• Good oral and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate a strategy/investment idea and translate into portfolio action
• Ability to communicate effectively at a senior level to a broad group of investment professionals
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment
